We got a deal on Akaroa Cottages that included a bottle of bubbles on arrival. My fiance and I had been looking for a romantic getaway close to Chch for just one night. I had to ring them several times to ask questions and the manager was always very helpful. Upon on arrival, everything was so clean and tidy, I was really impressed. It was a cool evening and the wood was conveniently stacked close by. There were other cabins close to ours but because of great landscaping we coulndn't see them, we really felt like we were the only ones there. Because I had done my research, I knew that I couldn't walk in to Akaroa and this didn't bother us. Some reviews said the access road was really bad - I didn't find it difficult at all - maybe I am used to driving on the Christchurch roads but if that is a reason to give it a bad review, that is crazy anyway. Our only regret was that we didn't book to stay an extra night.

Our last stop in New Zealand before travelling back to Tassie. We would recommend to any one. The 3Bedroom Seaview Cottage was just wonderful and the gardens were immaculate. Very tranquil and spacious. The town of Akoroa and the food did not disappoint.

We stayed in the cottage tucked into bush. It was really good. The room was very big as far as accommodation of that price goes. And, it even had a fire place with plenty of wood supplied to keep you going until the morning!
I recommend Akaroa Cottages to anyone wanting a tranquil escape from noisy cities. All you can hear are the songs of the native birds. Great place to stay - wish we'd stayed longer

Thank you for your review, Without knowing whom you booked through i am unable to determine whether i need to re-look at our we have it wording, We defiantly do not advertise as waterfront and our description is set on 12 acres. The walk to the village can take 10 min but depending on our fast you walk can take up to 15-30 min, the walk down is not to every bodies liking. I myself don't have a problem even with a pushchair and dog. We have a few items in need of updating and we are gradually updating these particular items. Tissues are usually in the bathroom cabinet not on display. We do hope to see you again.

Akaroa Cottages is my go to accommodation venue when spending time in Akaroa. Previously I've stayed in seaview cottages, but this trip was rather spur of the moment and we picked a bush view cottage. We were in the Croquet Cottage (it is pictured amongst the traveller photos uploaded) and I have to comment that the bush view cottages don't have as nice an exterior as the seaview cottages and are not as big, but the interior made up for the lacklastre exterior. The birdsong of bellbird's and other natives was a highlight, as well as not being in the direct line of sight of any other cottages, you really feel like you're alone in your own piece of paradise. The service is always friendly and helpful and I will definitely be staying again, but I will be booking seaview cottages in the future.

Room Tip: Book a Seaview Cottage, not only is the view better the cottages are nicer too.
