Description: Oxleys Bar and Kitchen, is a restaurant and bar that packs heaps of punch and produces meals that are suitable for a family, or perhaps if you are trying very hard to impress your partner with a fantastic dining experience. The waiting staff are fabulous and the meals are just a couple of notches below fine dining, so you get a great meal, including entree's, mains and desserts, but at a very affordable price.

“This was yummy seafood”
Reviewed 18 March 2014

This lovely restaurant offers the best seafood in many shapes and forms - Our choice was the platter for two (my eyes nearly popped out of my head when I saw the size of it), taking our time we made our way through it and at the end could only say "Wow that was fab" - we had good local wine with this meal, service by the friendly knowledgable staff was great - we will be back to see you Jenny & Shane.

“FESTIVAL OF THE SEA (Seafood Platter)”

Best Seafood Platter we have had in NZ More than enough for two people. Great service. Great staff who bent over backwards to help. Looking forward to next time in April.

“Triumph of quantity over quality”
Reviewed 11 March 2014

We were recommended to use this restaurant by the motel that we were staying at - the Motel was excellent the restaurant was terrible! A large presentation of tasteless prawns (clearly frozen and defrosted) was provided with a very poor sauce and the request for Mayonnaise to accompany a Crayfish was met with a bottled French Dressing - which was completely wrong. All dishes wee accompanied by a very poor Potato Dauphinoise, that had clearly been sitting around for a while before being served.

“The best in Picton”
Reviewed 10 March 2014

I was a bit dubious when my wife suggested eating in a hotel ...but was pleasantly surprised. As with most places we visited in New Zealand the staff were very pleasant, although somewhat less attentive once the order had been taken. Persuaded to have the Paua by another diner but this was disappointing....served well....but not a great starter. My wife was very pleased by her meal...overall we had good views of the harbour, pleasant staff, good service and overall good food at reasonable price

“Friendly and popular”
Reviewed 9 March 2014

We went to this seafood restaurant on three occasions,so it was very OK. Friendly and helpful staff were a little over whelmed at times due to the general busyness. Chowder and blue cod were always popular, as were the local green lipped mussels. Somewhat noisy due to the proximity with the bar area, particularly if there is a rugby game in progress!
