From the moment we arrived at the Hotel we were looked after extremely well, taken to our room by Juliarna who made us feel like we were special quests, nothing was a bother, the room was tastfully decorated with a deep luxurious bath, georgeous linen and tastefully decorated.
We dined there for the two days we spent in Picton, the food was delicious (melt in the mouth salmon) and portions were very generous, we certainly will return next time we travel down south.
Thank-you Juliarna for making our 30th wedding anniversary so memorable.

Room Tip: The Sea Room is so tastfully decorated in French style that adds to the ambeince of the Hotel

This boutique hotel provides a truly relaxing retreat set in the beautiful fishing village of Picton. Escape provides a very good excuse to come to Picton. The spacious suites are tastefully appointed. The staff are most charming and the owner Julianna is the hostess supreme. Don't expect airs and graces just good old kiwi hospitality. Would recommend to couples for a weekend treat.

Room Tip: Choose formal or modern suite

We stayed from 11 April to 14 April 2012 for our honeymoon. The hotel is situated in the quite but picturesque town of Picton just 20 minutes drive from the Marlborough wine region.

From the moment we arrived we were warmly greeted and taken into our room. We stayed in the Formal suite which is beautifully decorated and furnished in appealing and warm colors. We ate at the restaurant for breakfast daily and also had dinner on one occasion. In hindsight I wish we had dinner at ET every night because no other meals compared to it during our stay. The Chef and Owner of the hotel Juliearana is fantastic in the kitchen and her meals are well worth the wait. She also has great taste in design and decoration as the ambience of the hotel overall is gorgeous. She is passionate about her hotel and it shows in every aspect of the hotel and service.

We found that no request was too much trouble and we had some of our activities booked for us. I can’t compliment the service enough.

We really enjoyed our stay and we highly recommend it to anyone who is looking at hotels in the Marlborough region. We will definitely be back.

You will be treated to excellent fresh cuisine by the host/chef Juliarna and her delightful staff. Our room was tastefully furnished with the decor in subtle calming tones. The bed linen fresh and crisp and the bed extremely comfortable. The hotel is ideal for ferry travelers as it is only 5 minutes to the port, and a perfect location to leave your car in the hotel car park and enjoy the Picton nightlife. For those wanting a touch of luxury then this hotel will not disappoint.

For our honeymoon my brother very kindly booked us into Escape to picton.
It was well beyond what the web site showed!!!
We stayed in the Modern Suite.
The lounge was decorated beautifully and was very clean and inviting. The fire is a great touch too!
The bedroom had a king sized bed which was not too hard and not too soft.
The 2 person shower and spa were awesome!! My husband who normally tosses and turns all night was asleep with in minutes of getting out of the spa!

We enjoyed our stay so much we are planning to return for my birthday later this year!
