We arrived at Picton, tired and weary after travelling for a month, and we decided to rest for a night before exploring the South Island and we are so glad that we did, because we found this little gem of a boutique hotel.
We were greeted by Juliearna, the owner, and marvellous hostess. She showed us two rooms, both were absolutely gorgeous, and we decided to go with the bigger room, it was glorious-- the bed was to die for, the bed linen, the beautiful curtains and cushions and the BATH was sublime!!!! We had only had showers for a month and this was pure luxury for us.
I cannot put into words how wonderful this place was, we stayed for two nights and I wanted to stay for ever!!
Breakfast was delicious, everything you could want for and more. Juliearna arranged for us to go to the vineyards, which was also an incredible experience, and she did everything she could to make our stay memorable.
On our month of travels to Hong Kong to Sydney, Brisbane, Cairns etc, this has to have been the best place that we have stayed.
Thank you Juliearna, we will be back.

Room Tip: Only 3 rooms, all superb.

Beautiful room - gems dripping off the lamps, chandeliers, jacquard high thread count bedlinen and a slipper bath. All too much? Try the ipod with groovy music, milk to make your own tea and more towels than you can shake a stick at! Lovely, lovely, lovely. Thanks so much.

Room Tip: We were in the Modern but the sea view (don't think it had one) looked great too and our friends...

We stayed at Escape to Picton last week and had the most fantastic time. We had booked the formal suite and it has to be the largest room we have ever stayed in. It was beautifully presented with a bed to die for. The bathroom had a beautiful stand alone bath in a very tasteful bathroom. The staff were very helpful and breakfast was delightful. We are definately comming back and would reccomend Escape to Picton as the only place to stay at in Picton.

Room Tip: We were shown all the rooms and they are all great.

What a lovely property, set in a picturesque town! Basically a converted house, that contains a restaurant and a few rooms. Staff couldn't have been nicer and more accommodating, even cooking breakfast by request (i.e. no menus, just tell us what you want!)
The room was elegantly decorated with antiques in an a white linen theme, jacuzzi tub, and glass shower...generous sitting area, with desk sofas and chairs, TWO flatscreen TV's and an Ipod sound system. Lots of pillows and accent lighting. Perfect for a romantic getaway.

Room Tip: The Modern Luxury Suite is on the second floor, and used to house the owner and her daughter.

Stayed at Escape to Picton two weeks ago and what a wonderful couple of nights, we were upgraded into their formal suite and I was wowed on entry beautiful, staff were just lovely not over the top just very friendly. We didnt have breakfast included in our package as we had booked on a discounted site but on one of the mornings we decided to spluge out and buy breakfast which was freshly cooked and lovely. Some of the other places in town are ok, best place to drink cafe cortado or downstairs in the bar.

Room Tip: you should eat there as well wonderful. oh and soak in a bath.

My husband and I were in Picton a couple of weeks ago for a friends sons wedding and as we had previously eaten at Escape on our last visit and had a wonderful dining experience in a fantastic setting we decided to book in to one of their beautiful suites. We settled on the Formal Suite which blew us away. What a fantastic suite. On arrival we were shown to our suite, bags deposited and a brief "how to" on the TV and internet workings,Telephones and resturant hours, room service and asked what time we would like breakfast in the morning then left to settle in. Ten minutes later the waiter brought us a glass of bubbles each and a chocolate, fruit and cheesecake platter which was out of this world. The suite was located on the first floor with doors leading to a balcony that had wonderful views over the foreshore and Marina. The ensuite was bigger than my lounge at home and had a large glass shower and huge French bath in the middle of the room with an opulent chandelier, super fluffy towels and decadent smelling bottles of Shampoo, Conditioner, Bath Foam and soap which are available for purchase at reception. Now when I am at home laying back in my average sized bath I can add some Bath Foam and picture myself back there.Overall our experience was excellent with friendly helpful staff, great service and meals to die for. We will definitely be going back to Escape next time we are in Picton and think we try out one of the other suites.Ten out of ten

Room Tip: Go on to the Escape website and view all that is to offer. You wont be dissapointed.
