We arrived early but the staff were most accommodating. The restaurant was awesome and food was delicious the suite was just amazing felt like a queen. Next time we are going to book for a weekend and not just one nite. Thank you for making an uneventful trip memorable.

This restaurant was so slow, we had booked a table for 7pm and arrived 5 minutes early.
Put in our order by 7.00. We were informed that the ribs we had ordered would take 35 minutes prep. Starter of garlic bread arrived after 15 minutes.
By 8.00 we were so frustrated that we left. Waitress called manager who said everything is freshly cooked. We said surely not one hour. She then insulted us by inferring that we were used to McDonald's. What a cheek.
We paid for our wine and left with the insults of the manager ringing in our ears.
Never been treated so badly before in a restaurant.
For a restaurant where meals were not cheap the 1st paper napkins. ....well that says it all.

I felt like a princess all weekend. Our hostess JJ greeted us upon arrival and from that moment onwards our awesome experience began. JJ's hospitality, recommendations and organisation of our arrangements was spot on. We dined in her restaurant the first night which itself was an experience. We would recommend this gorgeous boutique hotel to anyone who appreciates quality accommodation, service and a hostess with the most.

Room Tip: The formal room is the room we stayed in. The decor was amazing with attention to detail in all aspe...

My wife and I booked the Sea Room for a night but got a surprise complimentary upgrade to their nicest room - the Formal Room. The bed room was huge, tastefully decorated with vintage furniture and lovely chandeliers. The stereo with attached iPod to get you in the mood was a nice touch. The bathroom was HUGE! and had a large claw foot bath big enough for two.

Breakfast was divine - my eggs Benedict and my wife's French toast were one of the best breakfasts we ever had. Dinner (not included in the price, they also run a restaurant) was fabulous as well.

Slightly pricey but treat yourself to a stay at Escape to Picton - you're worth it!

We've stay at Escape to Picton with my wife. It is very hard to find something similar in terms of...actually, in all terms in New Zealand. Owner was able to make a perfect historical and same time luxury atmosphere. Would recommend to everybody.

My partner and I stayed here on our way through Piciton. We were greeted kindly, taken care of immediately, and found the staff very friendly and polite. The 'Formal Suite' was absolutely BEAUTIFUL!! By far the most gorgeous B&B suite I have ever seen, the French décor was breath taking and the bath was to die for! We enjoyed a complimentary breakfast of fresh strawberry's/kiwi fruit/grapes, served with fresh home made bread, juice, yoghurt, muesli, and fresh lattes. All of the B&B's little touches really impressed us; they turned on our electric blankets, did our dishes, cleared used towels, and refilled our milk jug while we were at dinner (after only being there for a few hours)! We even had a complimentary ipod in our room full of relaxing music....bliss! We felt so looked after and at home, I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone and everyone, we will be back.
