Thanks for your review- We are glad that the night spent with us was enjoyable. We were lucky with the weather to be able to share our BBQ with you both. We wish you a safe trip back to Auckland. Cheers Nikki & Brent PS Charlie & Missy say a BAA thank-you
We stayed at Sounds Vista before and after our walk on the Queen Charlotte Track. Nikki is a super friendly host and will help and advice you with everything. She dropped us of at the Cougarline and we could leave the car and some luggage at the b&b. We had a great walk and could look forward to staying at Sounds Vista again after 4 days of walking. After the walk we were picked up again from the wharf. The rooms have really comfortable beds and a luxurious and spacious ensuite badroom. Breakfast is good and the times are flexible. Thanks Nikki and Brent, we had a great stay. We would definately stay here again!!!
Called into Picton on our way to Wellington my daughter with her fiance and myself decided to try a B&B for the night. Our hosts Nikki and Brent went out of their way to make us feel at home. Our accomodation was spacious and comfortable and Nikki went out of her way with our breakfast as one of us cannot tolerate gluten and she had gluten-free toast ready for his breakfast. Awesome Nikki ! Being ex locals we often visit but the motel we usually use was booked out, bad luck for them as we will use Sounds Vista again.Great hosts, fabulous veiws from deck, lovely rooms, and Charlie the lamb out the back.
Hi Di, Thanks for a great review. Really enjoyed you all staying,Charlie says HI(well BAA) Hope the rest of your trip went well and that you all managed to get back in the work mode when you got home. Cheers Nikki&Brent
My wife and I were lucky enough to pick Sounds Vista out of the travel guide during a road trip through New Zealand. Although only staying the one night and thus unable to comment on Picton as a whole this place was absolutely fabulous. We stayed in one of the guest rooms and I can honestly say I don't think I've stayed anywhere decorated and furnished to such a high level. In particular the en-suite was fabulous - the pictures on the website really don't just how sumptuous it is.
Additionally, we were looked after by Nikki during our brief stay who the definition of a great host. Not only friendly and helpful she also provided us with some great advice and tips for our journey to Christchurch.
I would absolutely and without hesitation recommend this place to anyone requiring accommodation in the Picton area.
This was our first B&B experience and we were delighted with the lovely friendly hosts and personal attention. We had the family room which was clean and spacious.
We would definitely recommend this B&B. I'd go back just for the extensive continental breakfast - delicious!!
Despite the friendly hospitality, the high-quality furniture and bathroom, tasteful interior decoration, walk-in wardrobe, beautiful sheets, good breakfast, etc. - our number one delight was the view over Picton and Queen Charlotte Sound from our room. That is what makes you feel you are on holiday. Equally fantastic is the deck which runs along the front of the house. There are several tables and chairs out there to bask in the views and sunshine.
Nikki and Brent, the cheerful and humourous owners of this B&B, were even fabulous hosts to Kimi the Bear whom they took on a tour of their beautiful house and grounds, visiting the resident sheep and taking cute photos of the busy travelling bear ;-))
We would always be happy to return to enjoy the peace and quiet of this location. But at this point it has to be mentioned that the location is not perfect for someone without his/her own vehicle, as it is a bit of a long walk from the town centre/waterfront. The train rattles past the house several times per day but this did not really bother us as it was a rare event. It just has to be mentioned for the sake of full information.
