“A nice surprise”
Reviewed 16 May 2014

Having had a ferry misfortune we were forced to find accommodation at short notice in Picton. Beachcomber Inn turned out to be a great option. We stayed in a newly refurbished superior room on the top floor with very nice modern décor and great views. Good location near the marina which meant we could take an enjoyable walk around the waterfront. The dinner was good too. We enjoyed our stopover. Recommend upgrading to a superior room!

Small niggles: Walking past the kitchen to get to our room, and tight car parks, but these were not a big deal

Room Tip: Upgrade to a refurbished superior room with good harbour views.

Well situated hotel within easy walking distance to all things. Although getting a little tired it was clean and everything functioned well. All staff were friendly and helpful.
This was our third stay at this hotel and find it value for money. Would recommend if you need somewhere that is above basic but not over the top (price reflects). Tea & coffee making facilities with mini fridge in rooms.

We did not stay here but had our main meal at the Whalers restaurant.
What a Great Harbor and Marina View!!! A Warm inviting atmosphere! Top that with a meal to die for and a serving the size to fill a lumberjack. We just had a lovely meal at the Whalers Restaurant for a mere pittance and will definitely return again to such enjoyment. Thank you

Arrived late on a wet miserable night and had to leave early to catch a ferry, so wasn't too bothered about a room with a view so we chose a "standard" room. What an inappropriate phrase that was, because the room was finished, presented and maintained to the very highest of standards and at a very reasonable price. I was very impressed.

Helpful, friendly lady at reception. Ideal location 2 minutes from the ferry terminals, or a short walk into town.

Couldn't fault it and would certainly come again and recommend to others.

Room Tip: If a view is not important to you, the rooms at the front of the hotel are cheaper but still excelle...

First time at this hotel, but sure beats the others I have stayed at.
Recently refurbished to a high standard - also to a very high earthquake standard, I was told.
Restaurant also offers excellent meals at a favourable price.
Staff excellent and very friendly.
Will be my stay of choice next time I am in Picton.

Great large comfortable room with spa. Fantastic balcony views over the Picton Harbour and beyond. I agree with other reviews good to see a motel that puts room presentation above outside appearance. Will definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Top floor with ocean and harbour views.
