We had a day in Picton on a recent cruise around New Zealand and Picton was one of the stops . When we went into the town we went to exchange some money and then went looking for some lunch and a beer. Walking down the road we stumbled across Mikey's bat and garden so went in. We received a very warm welcome from the bar man who was quiet happy to go through the range of drinks and food available. I was even able to try the local beer prior to buying it. So happy with this we ordered at the bar mans recommendation to try the blue cod and chips. We then went out side to wait for our food in the courtyard adjoining the bar. With 10 minutes I was presented with a freshly cooked plate of fish and chips. The batter was crisp and light and the fish was wonderful. The chips were also crisp and fluffy inside this as you can imagine went down well with the local pint. So to sums up if you are in Picton. and many a beer and local fish and chips try this place.
