We ate at The Barn Café on the recommendation of Kent (owner/manager of the Gateway Motel) and he was absolutely correct the food here is amazing. I had the fish chowder (I ordered a starter size) and it was more than enough. It was full of so many different types of fish the tastiest and best chowder I've ever eaten. Hubby had mussels to start and followed with the fish platter both of which were beautifully presented, fresh and full of flavour. It was a pity we only had the opportunity for one meal whilst in Picton or we would definitely have returned.
The staff are really friendly, the décor is eclectic and the atmosphere is very warm and welcoming. The restaurant is very clean, the menu wide ranging and very reasonably priced. The wines were also very reasonably priced and the pinot gris was especially good.
