I stayed here at a rate of $750 night. There are only 4 rooms in this house. It is a beautiful property at a scenic location, but it is unfortunate that the owners do not take pride in being business owners. When I was there, all 4 rooms were occupied. I had requested and paid for a room with a king bed and instead got a room with 2 queens. There was no advance notice to me of this change. For $750 a night you have certain expectation, such as wifi to work in all the rooms. I stayed at the Four Seasons Bora Bora for a comparable rate and all the amenities were perfect and functioning properly. At Breakfast on the Beach I complained numerous times about not having signal in my room which was probably less than 100 feet away from the router/modem. Why can't the owner stick independent wifi in each room? Why are they so cheap? There was so much dust in the room, on the remote control, on the glasses, cups, and any other surface I could find. Do they not pay someone to clean up in between guests? They were also stingy with the toiletries and towels, fortunately I brought my own. Breakfast is pre-set. I was not given any options nor asked preferences in advance. I do not eat eggs and that was the only option. The waitress didn't even know what was on the menu when I asked, even though she only had one menu and it was the same for all the guests. I had to remove the eggs and eat around them what was left. I went to a restaurant in town to eat afterwards since I was still hungry. If you stay here, don't pay more than $100/night. It's not worth any more. This was my last stop in New Zealand after staying at about a dozen different properties over several weeks. Some were less expensive and some were more expensive, but all of them exceeded the experience I had at BOTB.
