“A Romantic Interlude”
Reviewed 7 April 2010

Keith and Marilyn treated us as King and Queen, what neat genuine people. Keith was very warm and has a great sense of humour and looked after us from start to finish. The building and surroundings are very romantic and have such a beautifull view. We are very fortunate people to have such great family and friends to give us this two night package at an awesume venue, many thanks to our "Phillip, Ceryl and Koro Viv" our hearts go out to them. We (my new wife and I) would very much recommend Breakfast on the Beach and definately recommend Ananda Tours as well, our driver/host a very friendly guy also made us feel welcome. Thanks again Keith and Marilyn you guys rock.

We were spoiled with a lovely well thought out facility and great service. A wonderful breakfast. Very helpful professional proprietors who will attend to all your needs and make all your arrangements re tours, restaurants, taxi. Check out Ananda Tours as well. Ask for Nigel. He is fabulous. Overall we were very impressed and felt the price was very fair for the value received. A wonderful treat weekend.Highly recommended from us ( we travel regularly and can be fussy).

To enter BOTB is to be in a little corner of heaven. The level of comfort afforded at this wonderfull Boutique Residence is of a very high level indeed. As the name implies it is almost on the beach, lovely views of the bay are seen from all the guest bedrooms.
From the initial welcome at the ferry pick up, in Keith's open top car, to the final farewell. One is cocooned in the lap of luxury. Jacuzzi in the garden, welcome canapes, free wine in the room, pre dinner drinks, beautifull imaginative breakfasts, wonderfull decor, the list is endless. All of it enhanced by Marylin and Keiths genuine desire to make your stay memorable.
Definitely the best place to stay in our 4 weeks in New Zealand, mostly in boutique residences which were all good but not as good as this one.

From the moment Keith (the owner) welcomed us from the ferry and drove us in his white convertible through Oneroa to his and Marilyn’s beautiful hotel, we knew we were in for a treat. Fabulous quiet location; large, bright, spotless, perfectly equipped rooms overlooking the beach; friendly, helpful, but unobtrusive hosts; very special breakfasts; unexpected treats (early evening snacks, late evening port and chocolates, getting to meet Holly the dog). The hammock in the shady garden is a great place to doze. A word of advice: if there is anything you can’t eat breakfast-wise, let them know in advance as they decide the menu and you don’t know what you’re getting until you get it! Without doubt, the best hotel of our 3-week trip.

Just finished spending 3 very relaxing nights at BOTB on beautiful Waiheke island after a nearly 6 month tour of Australia & NZ. The atmosphere that Keith and Marilyn have created at their lodge is truly superb. The suites and facilities are top-notch, the breakfasts are delicious and their hospitality is genuine. The B & B is located outside of the main tourist areas on the Island but it's still very easy to access the incredible restaurants, beaches, wineries and hikes just minutes away. I would highly recommend BOTB for anyone wanting a luxurious getaway to Waiheke.

Breakfast on the Beach has consistent rave reviews on TripAdvisor, and I can understand why. While it is pricey, the facility is top quality with incredible bathrooms, extremely fine quality construction, and all built very recently so everything is modern and generous in size -- exactly the sort of vacation “home” we want and are more than willing to pay for. Each evening one has a selection of two or more wines with a light appetizer. The breakfasts are substantial, but are served restaurant style without much choice, as opposed to the help-yourself buffet approach which I personally prefer. Marilyn and Keith are wonderful hosts, and will help with dinner arrangements, taxi bookings, and anything else you need to know about Waiheke. The lodge is right on the beach, and there are kayaks available which we loved using. All in all, a great place to stay while visiting Waiheke. However, the island itself was, as I expected, rather a cross between the Hamptons and the New Jersey shore. There are lots of wineries, and they are fun to visit, but for us it was not as much of an escape from Auckland as had been portrayed by some.

After travelling New Zealand for 3 weeks we saved the best for last! Keith and Marilyn are wonderful, gracious hosts. Their attention to detail and clear desire to provide you with a fabulous experience come through in so many ways. The gourmet breakfasts are to die for and the peaceful back yard to relax in is wonderful. Keith and Marilyn are very well connected in Waiheke and can get you reservations at the best restaurants. We can't wait to go back to New Zealand and visit Keith and Marilyn again.
