I spent only one night here at the weekend and could have stayed for much longer. The owners Mike and Christine were very helpful and charming. I would most definately come back here. Attention to detail was outstanding. The beds were especially comfortable and the quality of linen was great. The small window in the shower room that gives a view of the sea/bay was great and we really enjoyed the peace and relaxation. The private SPA by our room was great and two deck areas.

Friends of ours organized our stay here for our wedding night. We knew from the second Mike pulled up at Mudbrick to pick us up that we had made the perfect choice. The place is stunning! Everything everyone else has written is so true: the tour, the genuine warmth of Christy and Mike, the views, the bed, the shower, the spa and pool, the breakfast - all stunning. We have stayed in loads of places and this is by far one of the best of the best. We wish we could have stayed more than one night! There are just so many touches that make it so classy and elegant and just fantastic. We loved it.

Owhanake Bay Estate provided the ultimate holiday get a way. I purchased a package for my weekend away and I don't think a penny went to waste. It was true value for money. I got a fancy dinner for two, breakfast, massage, breads and dip, tour of the vineyard and olive farm, bottle of wine. Both Mike and Christy have a true eye in how to provide hospitality and are genuine and kind hearted people . One thing that really impressed me was that on arrival we received home baked brownies which in the words off Mike " is dangerous and not a fruit" . I love the way how they provide organic foods/products for there guests to use. We have stayed in some five star hotels and the service that Owhanake Estate provided was amazing compared to the others. I definitely will be back at least every year and haven't stopped telling all my friends and family.

Stayed for a two night break in early January but wish it could have been longer. The room was absolutely beautiful and the bathroom elegant with a fantastic shower. We particularly liked having a delicious breakfast delivered to our private deck overlooking the bay and relaxing in the pool and hot tub in the evening.
What makes the place so special though is the location and most importantly the service. Mike was a fantastic host, his tour of the vineyard and gardens when we arrived was really interesting and his recommendations on what to do on the island were all on the money. Generally he's great company as well as producing wonderful breakfasts.
So often when you book somewhere judging by pictures on the Internet the reality of the location is slightly different, when we arrived on the island so many places that looked secluded from their websites were crammed in between other buildings. Owhanake really is as secluded and picturesque as you would hope. It's a very short walk to the bay, and some fantastic little private coves are just about a 15 minute walk away. The town is near enough to walk to without it being too close to bother you.
All in all it was a fantastic stay, wish we'd been there for a week as there's loads to do on the island and I could definitely get used to that bed and indeed the wine. Hope to return on next visit to New Zealand.

I spent three nights here in December, catching up on some work before returning to the U.S. The bed was the most comfortable I had slept in during five weeks of travel, the porchside view of the bay was fantastic, and the room and kitchen were immaculately clean and nicely designed (the shower includes a little window that overlooks the bay). The estate is located in a quiet nook of the island. Christy delivered breakfast to a porch table each morning (you can choose the time you like) and the food was fresh and delicious. I opted for the muesli, fruit, and yoghurt and Christy added a homeade muffin. Fantastic. The estate includes a vineyard, fruit, and vegetables (Mike provides a quick and impressive tour when you arrive), so much of the food they serve is homegrown.

While there, I usually spent a few hours working on a laptop on the porch (with wifi internet connection), then took a break by walking down to the bay for an hour or so. There are nearby trails that lead into the hills or to another nearby cove. It takes about six or seven minutes to drive into town to buy groceries or to eat at a restaurant. You can catch a quick meal on the porch of the Skinny Sardine or drive to a winery for a more expensive, but excellent dinner (I recommend Mudbrick Winery restaurant - at sundown).

There is also a swimming pool and you can use their bicycles to explore.

They include a bottle of their pinot gris white wine in the fridge (as well as chocolate and juices). Make sure you buy a bottle of their Syrah red wine too. Then it's time to put your feet up on the porch, open a bottle, and relax. Christy also leaves a jug of chocolate brownies in the room, which - once you taste them - won't last long.

Staying here was a superb way to visit Waiheke Island. Mike and Christy are informative and helpful, but leave you your own space to enjoy the place. It's a good base for exploring the island, and a place you will look forward to returning to after visiting wineries or hiking trails on Waiheke Island.
