The place is a small little cozy den, all done in wood and perched pretty on the Ocean Road in the scenic Waiheke Market area. We randomly got in, looking at the 'Italian' tag on its name board and well, we were not disappointed. We were received with warmth, with the young lady at the reception taking extra care to seat us comfortably since we were visiting along with a 2 year old in a stroller. We ordered the Delicata, a vegetarian pizza with basil, mushroom, mozzarella and mmm.., something else too! :) It was delicious! Light, crispy and fresh. Since we were on the vegetarian side, they prepared a customized pasta in white sauce, with sun dried tomatoes, basil and cheddar cheese. It was pretty good as well, although it could have been softer in bite. Nevertheless, the service was the highlight for me as the young lady approached us a good 4 times to ensure that we DO NOT get anything in our food which we do not want! She did a gr8 job! Billing was hassle free and the crowd, merry albeit thin. We didn't try any non vegetarian stuff but looking at the quality of the vegetarian food we had, I can safely extrapolate the graph :)

I ain't sure when am I gonna b bak at Waiheke but this one's gonna be on my list whenever that next time happens!

Meal for 2 (without alcohol): NZD 35 (Veg); NZD 42 (Non-veg)

Just read the report from "stuck in bangers" and we were there. Maybe some truth on the steak and pasta but this was addressed on the nite. Just been back (again) with more friends and had a great dinner. Pasta was great this time, pork belly to die for and the pizza just as good as ever. Seems that Tim and crew in the kitchen settled in nicely and Lesley and staff out front as usual, incredibly attentive. Best in Oneroa and we will return again and again. Leave room for the chocolate mousse with brandied figs !!

This is the sleeper restaurant on the island! Recently taken over by the folks from highly acclaimed Mudbrick vineyard, Fenice is serving the best food in Oneroa right under the nose of the much more publicized Oyster Inn...The Menu is diverse, the atmosphere very romantic and the staff is on the ball...

Escaping from the rain, my friend and I hurried in here and found a wonderful, cosy environment complete with an open fire. The staff were friendly, offered assistance with wine and food selection, and made us feel relaxed and welcome. The pride in hospitality was evident from service, through to the carefully staged country-Italian decor (complete with a fresh rose bloom at each table) and the presentation of the food. Our antipasto was stand-out, and great value for money - just see the photo. Delicious. We will be back.

Wow! Don't know if this was because we chose to dine here on an off-season Tuesday evening, when the kitchen could really take the time to put out the food, but what an exquisite meal. Try the spinach and pine nut Ravioli, with local Olio, succulent, subtle but tasty. Even the walnuts in the pear and rocket salad, were toasted to the right level of crunchiness. Great local wines on offer to compliment the meal, with the Passage Rock Dessert Viognier a real treat to finish the meal.
Not many diners in tonight - hardly a soul to be seen on the street outside, but this meal was bang on the money. It s to be hoped that they can maintain the standard once the crowds return to Waiheke. If so, DEFINITELY a place to bring your visitors.
