“A Slice of Heaven”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 January 2013

Exquisite views, delightful service, heavenly dining and impeccable presentation... what more could you ask for? The lodge is located on top of the Waiheke Island, taking advantage of the incredible views that the island has to offer. The atmosphere that emanates from the unique architecture and interior design certainly promotes a sense of tranquility and relaxation. The dining experience was absolutely divine, with each plate carefully prepared to satisfy your taste buds. A wonderful piece of paradise that I would certainly visit again in the near future.

Delamore Lodge. I had been so looking forward to our holiday here and thanks to Roselyn, it was more than we expected. It started from the moment we were greeted at the entrance to the lodge and shown to our rooms...how wonderful to be wrapped in the welcoming, peaceful, ambiance of luxury... which is assisted by the tasteful color scheme of creams, ochres and earth browns with splashes of vibrancy... tropical and themed gardens, with intimate pockets and views equal to the Aegean...an infinity pool where you can dream away whilst sipping on cocktails as the sun sets...
Aaron, the Chef, will create the most succulent, decadent and tempting cuisine that will woo anyone.
Roselyn and her Staff were available to cater to our every need and even to our 'whims'.
This is what you expect from a 5 Star World renown Lodge. It is well worth treating yourself, family and friends to a weeks stay in a little bit of paradise...

If Waiheke is the crown in Auckland, Delamore Lodge must surely be the jewel. Small property with an unbeatable peaceful location dedicated to the visitor's comfort and pleasure. Outstanding ambience and service. Every detail considered in the grounds, the rooms, the lounges and the service.
We quickly got on first name terms with the staff and it was plane sailing from there.
Meals were also of high standard.

Room Tip: They all have outstanding views and privacy.

Ive been fortunate to stay at some of the best places in the world and this tops them all. We arrived early and Rosalyn and the rest of her staff were extraordinarily accomodative. Everything exceeded our expectations from the romantic dinner to the beautiful view from the infinity pool. Maybe worth skipping the massage for a tour of the town or island.

My family and I spent an amazing three nights at Delamore Lodge. Perched on a hillside, the lodge had fantastic views of the bay, and was easily accessible to wineries and the town center. The hosts Aaron and Roselyn were absolutely delightful, and Jake (the dog) was ever so friendly. Breakfast, canapes and dinner were INCREDIBLE, as Aaron did his best to gorge us on delicious New Zealand cuisine. Minor complaints would include the rooms; although they were comfortable and large, at times they seemed a little dingy, and therefore came across as a little dirty.

Also, while lodging (and everything) on Waiheke Island is generally expensive, the price tag for a regular room here was a little steep. It was definitely an amazing stay, and I definitely recommend it for people who would like a little pampering at a price.

+++:
Food, food, food (Breakfast / Canapes / Dinner): Aaron, our primary host, was also our chef, and he treated us to wonderful breakfasts every morning and lip-smacking canapes every evening. For breakfast, be sure to try his scrambled eggs - absolutely decadent! Canapes with a glass (or three) of wine were included in the price as well, and was a great way to kick off the evening. We also arranged for dinner during our first night, and all of it was hearty and tasty, despite the price being a little expensive.

Views: Incredibly scenic views of Owhanake bay outside the bedroom window (and all across) the lodge. Serene and beautiful.

Hosts: Our hosts Aaron and Roselyn (Grace as well!) were absolutely wonderful. They were always there to help and chat, and helped with any complaints or requests. They helped organize the wine tour, as well as any dinner and lunch reservations.

Wifi: Free wifi was available in the main lodge, although connection was sometimes iffy.

---:
Rooms: The rooms were quite nice, with a large king bed and ample space, as well as a beautiful view of the bay. They had a minibar, a large work-desk and a sizable bathroom. However, with the color scheme of the room (beige and brown were predominant), the room seemed a little dingy, and even a little dirty. I understand that they clean the rooms thoroughly following a guest's departure, but overall I was simply not too impressed.

Price: Accommodation, services, as well as food and wine prices on Waiheke Island are generally higher than that of Auckland or "mainland" New Zealand. Delamore Lodge was no exception, with room prices reflecting its status as one of Waiheke Island's premium luxury lodge. While we had a wonderful stay, unfortunately I have to bemoan the price as being a tad too steep. While I definitely recommend this lodge to travelers, it would be to people who are willing to pay a hefty premium to be pampered!

We recently spent two nights at the Delamore over NYE, and it was 5/5 all-around. The ocean views from all rooms are beautiful, and the staff bend over backwards to ensure every need is met and every comfort provided. Echoing prior posts, Aaron and Rosalyn are great hosts (and Aaron is an excellent cook!) and the other staff was always friendly and available but never intrusive. For comparison, we often stay in $1k+/night places and the Delamore is well worth the price within that service class as well as overall.

To top off our visit, Rosalyn called us a taxi to the ferry - but the taxi service sent a tour bus to get us that was already full of people doing a day trip. To ensure we made our ferry, Rosalyn simply drove us down herself! We would highly recommend the Delamore.

Room Tip: The rooms are all uniformly excellent, but if Internet access is important you may want to check wif...

Amazing place. If you stay one place in your lifetime, this is it.
My now fiance proposed to me there and it couldn't have been more perfect!
We stayed there 2 nights and had a great deal of trouble leaving. The location and views are great, its close to the shops but you feel so remote.
The service was excellent there is always someone happy and willing to help you out with any questions or requests.
You can tell a lot of effort and detail has gone into making this a memorable place to stay.
