This is the best ever way to see the sites of Waiheke Island. Chris and his friendly team provide an amazing experience with their amazing electric bikes. They are easy to operate and given how hilly Waiheke is, they make those tough inclines melt away. The roads are safe and there is plenty to see and EcyclesNZ is the way to see it. Great value and gret experience. A must do while on the Island.

What a unique way to see Waiheke! We had a wonderful time pedaling around the island, and the extra push (especially during the uphills and headwinds) made the experience much more enjoyable. Chris was also extremely helpful and accommodating, even picking us up and dropping up off at the ferry terminal. I highly recommend EcyclesNZ to anyone wishing to explore Waiheke Island, whether you're a first timer or you're looking for something different to do on the island.

After an initial difficulty of getting hold of Rob (mainly because we were travelling early over to the Island and it was out of season I think) he met us at the Waiheke Port. We drive over to his and chose two of the e-cycles and really enjoyed chatting with him and saying hi to his dog!

Rob showed us how to use the bikes and after a test run, with a map in hand and some tips of places to visit, we were let loose on the Island! We did a bit of circuit round the place starting in Oneroa and looking round the shops (recommend looking in Upcycle for some quirky second hand gifts) and then into Wild on Waiheke for a spot of lunch. We ended our tour on Mawhitipana beach before heading back to Oneroa for a coffee and back to Rob's place for a ride back to the Port. Living in London, it took some getting used to not having to lock the bikes up!

The bikes were fantastic for revving up some of the steeper hills and made light work of what turned into being a hot day. The only thing about ecycles are they are quite heavy and, also, you need to be careful when you get off the bike that you don't continue to accelerate on the handlebar - I did this at Wild on Waiheke and nearly ended up chasing the bike into the playground!

Waiheke Island has this chilled out vibe and Rob and the bikes fit into this perfectly.

Thank you ecycles.

My partner and I rented eBikes for the day to get around Waiheke. We were met at the ferry by Rob, and delivered back to the ferry in the afternoon. We had ridden Mountain Bikes before but not eBikes, but they didn't take long to get used to. We visited the markets, beaches and wineries and got around a good part of the island. There was more traffic on the roads than I had expected, but this didn't detract from the experience. There are hills on Waiheke and the electric motor on the eBikes helps, but you still need to pedal! (But a lot less effort than riding a mountain bike!). Thoroughly recommend the experience.
