“Pity the standard of service and professionalism”
Reviewed 19 October 2013 via mobile

Beautiful location on the edge of waiheke with spectacular views! The service of the cellar door was a real disappointment! A rude male (wore half moon reading glasses) staff member that had no time for us and made us both feel as if we were a nuisance! Also had a argument in front of us with another female staff member! Wine was nice and the food looked great however we won't be recommending it as the service is terrible! Also whole place needs a spring clean! Dusting, Windows and de spider webbing everywhere!

“Stunning views & welcoming owners”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

We have eaten at Te Whau over the past 10 years with wonderful memories with family and friends and we still have no complaints.

Tony, Moira, Merlot and Malbec (the family cats meet & greet guests) make all the difference to the experience.

Stunning sea views, extensive wine selection (the Te Whau Chardonnay 2012 is quite something). To add to the mix, they're growing their own vegetation for use in the restaurant too which is a plus using local produce.

I would like to see more dishes that cater to coeliacs with nut allergies though, which is difficult for a foodie who could once eat nuts and gluten!

You won't regret visiting Te Whau, an experience in more ways than one. Well done, keep up the good work, we'll be back as always.

“Brilliant!”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

As soon as I had finished my appetizer I wanted to re order it. And then my meal was equally great. The scallops are a must and the wine is excellent (although pricey). A good bottle was $100NZ. Beautiful views, friendly and very knowledgeable staff. Highly recommended.

“Stand out!!”
Reviewed 28 September 2013

Gorgeous lunch with incredible food and wine, overlooking the most stunning view.
This was the absolute stand out of our stay on Waiheke.
The owner Tony, took the time to chat to us about the wine he produces.
A delight to see someone so passionate about what they do!!
