I stayed at Casa Osmary Alberto March 27-29. I had been here 2 years ago with a friend and this time brought my husband and 2 daughters to experience Cuba. We all loved it this Casa! This time the place has definitely expanded as they have built a whole new floor with patio above at the back. They are still working on putting a bar area on the ground level. We stayed in these two new rooms. Colour is the theme here and we had the orange room, our daughters the red room. Both were spotlessly clean and had very new, efficient and quiet air conditioners. We enjoyed breakfast and dinner here during our stay.

Room Tip: all the rooms are nice

Adjectives such as quaint, quirky, odd, and eccentric describe Casa Osmary y Alberto’s Casa to a “T”; and by the way, it’s certainly bright. We had the downstairs green room with lime green walls, lime green curtains and lime green bedspreads. Take your Ray Bans, you’ll need them. And while we are at it, we might as well mention, the pink bathroom. Seems that all the rooms are garishly bright, purple, orange, yellow whaterever.
It has to be said that the casa provides very good, comfortable accommodation. Situated a couple of minutes walk from the Iberostar Grand Hotel it makes an ideal base for wandering around the town and seeing the sights. After the sightseeing, grab a cab at the end of the street and go to Playa Ancon, about 10 CUC’s return. The small snack bar as you hit the beach serves drinks at your sun bed and does a pretty good cheeseburger. The Casa rooms are spotlessly clean and cool complete with a fridge stocked with ice cold water, soft drinks and beers for which you pay a tiny amount on departure. Breakfasts were ample and sufficient consisting o f yoghurt, fresh fruit, bread and eggs, fried as you like them or as an omelette. We had dinner there twice and overdosed on the superb lobster. That must go down as gluttony. Staff are very friendly and smiley. Osmary and Alberto are obviously working very hard to make their business succeed. It was recommended to us by our travel agent and we have to say it was a delight to stay there. Our only tiny criticism was of the shower. A nice big cubicle but the poor pressure let it down. Had that been better we would have scored the casa 5 out of 5. None the less, we would certainly stay there again but probably won’t as once you have seen Trinidad you have seen it. It is not a large town and two days is enough.

Room Tip: You will need sunglasses!

We took two rooms for 3 nights and enjoyed our stay the rooms basic but clean the owners very happy to help with anything. Two points that they might address one of the rooms had terrible water pressure for the shower and at times our daughter used our bathroom to shower and some of the young ladies who waited on our breakfast or dinner table need to smile they look so serious .

This was our second visit to Casa OsmaryAlberto and we brought a group of travelers who were amazed by the quality of the rooms, the attention to detail of the hosts, the food and the location. If you're fortunate enough to secure a reservation at this house (they're booked well in advance), do yourself a favor and don't stay anywhere else, we know we won't consider any other place during future visits to Trinidad.

Room Tip: All the rooms in the back are our favorite.

5 of us stayed here for 3 nights and loved it. We each had our own en suite bedroom, they were spotlessly clean, spacious, had air con and a fridge and very comfortable. Breakfast is taken in the central courtyard which is beautiful, the breakfast is delicious - fresh juice and fruit, yoghurt, omelettes with chorizo and chesse, scrambled eggs, toast, marmalade, pastries. We also had 3 evening meals at the casa, on 2 of those we were joined by other guests and a trio of musicians/singers - all delightful.
Alberto, Osmary and their staff couldn't have been more lovely. Alberto arranged a day trip to the farm where he grew up where we enjoyed horse riding to a small waterfall and lake and a delicious 3 course meal back at the farm with cocktails, hammocks, everything to make it a perfect day.
The casa is very well located, a short walk each evening to the main square for live music and dancing and a short walk to the daily market for some very good and cheap souvenirs.
Alberto arranged a taxi to take us to the beach for half a day, Playa Ancon is superb. Their daughter does very good manicures, pedicures etc. They will also do laundry for a very small charge.
We don't think there is a casa in Trinidad that could have suited us better, it was perfect in every way mainly due to the friendliness and efficiency of Alberto, his family and the staff. We would definitely recommend and would stay there again if we returned to Cuba.
Thanks again Alberto and Osmary.

We had stayed in 2 other home stays before this, and as another reviewer has said, THIS is not a home stay.We had a courtyard room with no natural light(due to a loggia outside), it was spacious and the bathroom had a lovely big shower.
The meals are served in the courtyard, breakfast was excellent ... but the evening meal a little "nouvelle" in its portion sizes.
We were also there for the music night ... where guests from another homestay joined us for a nice evening.
This mini hotel is ideally placed - and although there is no internet .... (COME ON CUBA!!) the internet cafe is in the square near the Iberostar, just round the corner.
Trinidad requires no more than a day and a half pretty tho it is ... so 2 nights ample here.

Room Tip: maybe ask for the upstairs rooms.

This swanky casa is right where you want it to be in the centre of town, one block from the Iberostar, so a 5-10 minute stroll from the main sites and museums. There is secure parking within the property through a challengingly narrow gateway off the street. Osmary and Alberto have five double rooms, and clearly employ a number of staff, so the place is to all intents and purposes a small hotel rather than a traditional family home-stay. Not that that really matters, but their management had something of a hands-off feel to it; we had maybe got used to practising our Spanish on chattier and more engaged hosts. Our upstairs room was large and very extravagantly decorated and furnished. A good bathroom and shower, fridge and modern (= silent) AC. Breakfast was taken in the courtyard, and was the usual formula, with perhaps more choices than usual (sausage, bacon etc.) if you asked for them. Dinner one evening was a bit disappointing, again possibly reflecting the fact that a less-than-engaged employee cook was having to cook for just two guests that night.
