Had dinner here with 19 fellow travelers in early March and everyone raved about his/her meal. The service was outstanding, and with Chef David in the open-style kitchen, the ambience was pure Cuban. So many diners order lobster (as you'll see in the reviews), but be assured whatever you order will be delicious. As you enter the dining area, you'll love the open-kitchen and lovely Cuban tiles. The evening we were there, a trio of excellent musicians entertained us with outstanding Cuban jazz. A little off the beaten path, it's a journey into culinary delight.

Coming from New England we were somewhat apprehensive about having Caribbean lobster, but there was no need for concern. It was large and wonderfully tasty, as was all the food at this superior Trinidad, Cuba restaurant. The tables and the cooking area were set up under canopies in an interior courtyard of what, on entry, seemed like a run down extablishment. We had the usual band playing music which was not too loud and allowed us to conentrate on the exquisite food - salad, pumpkin soup, a large lobster tail and a dessert of banana covered in chocolate and peanut sauce. After the meal David, the owner and chef, told us how he had overcome many difficulties to be able to run a restaurant. A fascinating story of skill and determination. He deserves to suceed and will do with this quality of food.

My husband and I dined at Davidmart in February of 2013. We were a party of 20. Everyone raved about the great service, the presenation of the meals and the entree choices. The food was delicious. After David's work in the open-kitchen was finished, and the meals served, he graciously visited with his guests. David is a very talented chef and we wish him much success. If you are visiting Trinidad de Cuba, this is the restaurant you must try.

Wonderful restaurant! We were lucky enough to be there the night he was serving lobster! Mind you this is not ordinary lobster, We were served half of a four pound lobster tail! We were warned that it might be tough , but it was exquisite! Don't be put off by the entry! It will open up to beautiful courtyard! The chef is VERY friendly!
