We rented a 18 foot poonton (from Tidewater Tours) to do some nature photography, specifically pursuing the magnificent frigratebirds. Since it is nesting season and hundreds of egrets, herons, pelicans and ibis are nesting, the island is off limits until July. However, from the allowed 300 feet off shore, we were able to get some great shots of the frigatebirds in flight, scores of them as well as great shots of the egrets and others coming and going. Truly a very special place, will return in September to photograph the "displaying" frigatebirds mating ritual.
