“Rocky beach, with a creek entering the ocean”
Reviewed 10 October 2013

Muriel O. Ponsler Memorial State Scenic Viewpoint, just north of Carl G Washburne State Park, is an easy-access spot to wander on the beautiful steretch of beach on the central Oregon coast. Washburne day-use area is also just south of here and has restrooms, but access is just a bit easier at Ponsler. This piece of scenic beach stretches for about 5 miles and is located about 14 miles North of Florence and about 11 miles south of Yachats. Wonderful place to wander the beach looking for complete sand dollars!

“Awesome Views”
Reviewed 19 September 2013

My husband and i took a week to tour the coast line. We drove from Florence going north. The views are amazing! The dunes look like they would be great fun motoring around. We went to the Seal Cave twice, but the seal lions we not there. I was nice that they told us this so one would be disappointed. We did decide to go down anyway on the second visit. It was glassed in. It was somewhat interesting but if you go and they tell you the seals are not there I would suggest not to go as it is the seals that will make it worthwhile. Cannon Beach area was the best! The beach area went on forever. When the tide is out you are able to walk forever and it really wasn't crowed (we went 1st week of Aug) The Haystack Rocks are cool. Lots of birds of different kinds and in the tide pools there are star fish and other sea creatures. The pizza place in town is just a hole in the wall but excellent food and service! We will definently go back as we did not have enough time there. The traffice is crazy! Since we were travelling north bound, crossing the highway to see the sites fun (not) Sunsets were great if the sky wasn't overcast. Worth going!

“Salem rally”
Reviewed 3 September 2013

My husband and I enjoyed the Oregon coastline as part of an 11 night motorcycle trip, traveling 5115 miles. Could spend weeks enjoying this beautiful area. Our key destination for our trip was the BMW international rally, which was held in Salem at the state fairgrounds site. Along the coastline, it was cloudy and cool. We were there in mid-July, 2013.

“11 day vacation touring Oregon Coast. Astoria to Florence. Loooved it!”
Reviewed 4 August 2013

NJ folks here. Landed in Portland. Rented a car. Drove and stayed in Seaside for 3 days at the Gilbert Inn - nice place to stay buy not a B&B. While there explored north (Astoria) and a bit south. BEST ADVICE IF RENTING: go to Fred Myer (local store) - get a member card - save $$$ on gas!!! After Seaside for 3 days, south to Netarts (Tillamook) - at Cape Lookout B&B. Great place!! Toured surrounding area north and south for 3 days then south to Yachats - our favorite area, for 4 days at Wayside Lodge. Toured as far south as Florence and old Town. Weather was nice. Windy and cold, but we expected that for the most part. Never got above 70 degrees. We hiked, flew kites, fire on beach, blew glass, toured etc etc etc.
Surprisingly inexpensive if you avoid the obvious expensive restaurants. You MUST See the Oregon Coast!

“Oregon Coast Travel”
Reviewed 24 July 2013

A wonderful place to get out of the heat of this summer! Mornings foggy and cool! Great views and places to visit. Fabulous beaches and wonderful people! Made it from Tillamook all the way down to Redwood Forest in California. Traveled in 5th wheel and found many interesting RV Parks and camp hosts! This is 3 rd year for taking the 5th wheel. Salishan Resort is a beautiful motel and golf course is very highly rated! Great service and location.
