Owner description: Scenic driving route along Oregon's Pacific coast and through the mountains.

There are no words that can describe the beauty you will find as you cruise along 101. Vacillating between woods and ocean views this highway does not disappoint in any way. If you are into haunted history check out the haunted 101 book for areas along the coast rich with haunted stories. Many of the lighthouses have such stories. Around Depoe Bay is a nice roadside area called Rocky Creek where you can sit for hours and watch whales and boats. Another must see is Cape Perpetua. This is one of my favorite highways in the US.

There is so much beauty to see as you drive on this coastal route. It takes longer than travelling on the interstate but so much worth it with fantastic views of the sea all along the route. Plenty of spots to stop take pictures, admire the area, get a coffee or even a meal

Be prepared to make frequent stops because the scenery is so spectacular. There are many lookouts so make sure you stop and take pictures. Meyers Beach was one of our stops. Our grandchildren were able to get out and walk on the beach and enjoy the salt air. It was an easy walk to the ocean.

Unsurpassed beautiful! Many good view points along the coast, few good places to watch for whale, we saw one at the Boiler Bay that got me so excited and forgot to snap a picture.

One beautiful view after another! If possible plan extra time and stop often....so much to take in! We had 5 days and could have used 5 more.
