Make sure you read trail descriptions before you go because the trails here are not well marked. It's a relatively easy downhill for the first mile. Then it's straight down for the next half mile. Don't forget you have to come straight back up that same half mile. The three mile round trip is strenuous but worth it. It was just a little disconcerting that the bear hunters were out with their dogs and we kept hearing the dogs. A local made sure to tell us that this just meant the bears were even further back in the mountains than usual and we surely wouldn't meet one on the trail.
