This is a must-see when you are in DC. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is that it's a little sprawling, with some floors being really interesting, and some areas a little thin. Overall though it is a great place for families, especially with older children.

“This is a Cannot Miss”

Second visit to the Newseum and love it. Went to see the special exhibits (1000 days of JFK and Anchorman); so diverse but both were equally wonderful to visit.

“Great day”
Reviewed 3 December 2013 via mobile

Had very enjoyable day at the Newseum. Didn't know quite what to expect from previous reviews. It was very well set out so you could see all the exhibits without having to backtrack. The restaurant in the basement was very clean, food was good and reasonably priced. We got a reduced entry because we had our British Automobile Association cards with us. Spent 4 hours in the museum and if it wasn't for the fact that we are flying home tomorrow would consider returning.

“Great for writers and journalists, but a little pricey.”
Reviewed 3 December 2013 via mobile

Newseum is great for people with an interest in journalism. They have some of the earliest newspapers ever printed on display and an extensive JFK exhibit. The current Anchorman exhibit is pretty cool too. However, it's spread over six floors and there isn't really enough content in the exhibits to justify six stories. The staff was far friendlier than at any other museum or attraction in DC.

The elevators are extremely slow, so keep that in mind if you're bringing a stroller or a wheelchair.

Parking is free by the courthouse on weekends (it's one block behind the Newseum) so don't waste $11 in the parking garage on the street right across from it.

They have a military discount so make sure you take advantage of it if you can.

“Very interesting”

Plan to spend half to one day here as there is a lot to see. You get sucked in by a photo or article about an event and time passes like you wouldn't believe. Even after about 4 hours we still didn't have time for the Pulitzer prize photos and a section on the FBI recapture of the Uni-bomber. The ticket is about $20 each but they allow you to go back the following day at no extra charge, which we did. The food is not that great but OK.
