Thought this might take 2 or 3 hours to breeze through. Boy, was I pleasantly surprised. Engaging, interesting exhibits. I REALLY want to go back soon. I ended up spending my entire day's time -- six hours -- at this one museum.

Well worth a visit. More than just news. It's quite comprehensive. And something for all ages.

This is one of my favorite museums in D.C. The Kennedy exhibit, which is on 2 different floors is outstanding, particularly the 18 minute film. The 9/11 permanent exhibit is very emotional. I also love the Tim Russert re-creation of his office.

In a town filled with wonderful free attractions, the Newseum has interesting content but is very expensive for a family.

We have been to most of the free museums in DC so we decided to try the Newseum and were definitely NOT disappointed! It was one of the best museums we have been to in a long time. We had planned on staying a few hours but ended up staying most of the day. There is so much to see and do. The 9/11 exhibit is very moving. They even have a box of tissues outside the door when you come out. There is also a section of the Berlin Wall there. There is a cost to enter the museum but if you are a senior and a AAA member you get a "smokin' " deal. Just ask for it. It's not a place that young children would enjoy. I would say, 12 and older would understand most of the things they see. The food court as excellent as anything Wolfgang Puck cooks usually is - however a little expensive but very tasty.

We spent a day in the Newseum and if we could, would have come back the next day. Admission is good for 2 days. In addition to the short intro movie take the docent-led building tour and then go exploring. Families will love the area to do your own news or weather forecast in front of a green screen. Every exhibit had something special. The only thing that didn't stand up as good as all the others was the "4-D" 13 minute movie. It wasn't bad, just not great. Don't worry about getting motion sick from it, the seats only shake a little (that's the 4th "D"). I really enjoyed hearing the story behind the Pulitzer prize winning photos from the photographers.
