“Best Museum in DC !”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

This was, hands down, the best museum in DC. Granted, I am a bit of a news junkie, but it was amazing! Everything to do with the news, since reporting the news began, is represented. 15 theaters and 15 displays, plus 7 floors of exhibits! I spent all day, and had to go back the next day to finish. Fortunately, your ticket is good for 2 days, and our hotel had $5 discount passes for it. All in all, a wonderful place to spend at least one day of your vacation.

“A must see....”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

Spent 2 days in the museum....a great place to relive some of the greatest new related event. The 9-11 exhibit is expecially poignent. I loved the elections coverage. It is fun to see you town's (or State's) newspaper headlines as you enter. THe tickets are good for 2 days.

“Modern museum is worth a visit”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

This museum will offer you the most complete view on news and media that you are ever likely to find anywhere. It will take you all day to properly view all of the exhibits which really explore the relationship between the media and society. The exhibits we found most interesting were the radio mast from the World Trade Center, the photos of the year, the FBI section and especially the personal artifacts of journalists, some of whom died in the line of their duty.

This is a first class museum and offers exhibits which candidly discuss the shortcomings of media, reporters and editors, which enhances credibility of the institution. They've also made a serious commitment to the civil rights movement. There are a series of small theatres which focus on things such as: The Media and Hollywood; The Power of the Image; Media in the Civil Rights era and; Pulitzer Prize winning photos.

They also have a nice cafeteria with a wide variety of food including a huge salad bar. A little on the expensive side but acceptable.

They have also really applied modern tech and display concepts to tell classic if somewhat Amerocentric stories.

If you want to explore issues within media this is your place.

“Not your average museum - very engaging”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

We were lucky enough to meet another couple on a tour the previous day and they gave us their Newseum tickets (valid for 48 hours) to use the next day. Free entry!

The museum itself is very interesting with many exhibits. At the time we visited, the Anchorman exhibit was on - while I hadn't seen the movie my partner had and he loved the exhibit!

We spent a good 2 - 3 hours exploring the museum. I particularly found interesting (and moving) the 9/11 section. The JFK part was interesting too, as I didn't know all the history or events of the day.

“Second visit even better than the last”
Reviewed 19 June 2014

I visited this museum last year on a trip to Washington but didn't have much time so was really looking forward to a return visit. I was not disappointed. They offer a free second day and we took them up on it. Well worth the money - absolutely fascinating.
