Each of the seven levels in this magnificent building is packed with interactive exhibits that explore free expression and the five freedoms of the First Amendment: religion, speech, press, assembly and petition. Whether you have just a few hours or want to spend all day, you'll find something for everyone in the family in the Newseum's 15 theaters and 15 galleries.

I had visited before, with a conference during the inauguration, but it was worth the second trip back. I enjoyed taking my time in all of the exhibits. There are some very interesting exhibits ranging from the FBI, to 9/11 to the berlin wall. It is wide ranging in topics in the news and has some great interactive exhibits.

I was doubtful that I would enjoy this museum, but I did.
The entrance price is relatively high at $24 with modest 10% students saving. There are however some great exhibits of film and photographs from key historical moments in the Pullitzer prize display, many with notes on the pictures explaining the circumstances and outcome from the fleeting moment.
The 9/11 and Berlin wall exhibits are emotional and hard hitting, with great specimen materials such as smashed cameras and melted mobil phones recovered from the scene. More 9/11 in the FBI exhibit also on the ground floor, easily missed behind the food court. I dont give it five stars firstly as some of the other floors have weaker content, and most news-worthy events are tragic so it has perhaps 10 tragic, upsetting scenes for every 1 heart warming story. The restaurant is much better than other museums efforts, locally with fresh healthy and tasty food, which is a nice surprise. Allow 3 hours. It is directly opposite the National museum of Art so not hard to find as another review implied.

The tickets are good for two consecutive days, and you will need them to see it all. This museum has so much to see. It was very interesting with many diverse exhibits.
