Owner description: Find out for yourself why everyone is calling the Newseum the best experience Washington, D.C. has to offer. Each of the seven levels in this magnificent building is packed with interactive exhibits that explore free expression and the five freedoms of the First Amendment: religion, speech, press, assembly and petition. Whether you have just a few hours or want to spend all day, you'll find something for everyone in the family in the Newseum's 15 theaters and 15 galleries.
Useful Information: Activities for older children

Activities seem to be targeted to middle school or upper elementary school children. I found more interesting exhibits at the Smithsonian.

Thanks for visiting and I'm sorry you were disappointed. We try to balance the content of our exhibits so there's a little something for everyone, young, old and in between. Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback.

Spent a day at the newseum. This museum is amazing and is honestly too much to see without rushing, in one day. My ticket worked for two days as they suggest you take your time to explore. I really like the best photos of year exhibit. Note that they do not allow food or drink to enter the building

22$ per person... It might look like it's expensive at first glance, notwithstanding the fact we were doubtful about the museum at first, but it was definitely worth it! It is a MUST DO in Washington even if you are not citizen of the U.S. and not aware of the news in general.

Before we knew it 5 hours vanished at the Newseum without a moment of boredom or desire to leave! This place contains not only actual major bits and pieces of history that has shaped our world but also has exhibits about how the transmission of news has changed since its inception-imagine using carrier pigeon as opposed to tweeting!

If you love reminiscing about events passed, imagining what it was like to experience events you didn't actually, love history or appreciate how communication and how we do it effect us all as humans then go to Newseum! It was definitely one of the highlights of my trip!

I had visited before, with a conference during the inauguration, but it was worth the second trip back. I enjoyed taking my time in all of the exhibits. There are some very interesting exhibits ranging from the FBI, to 9/11 to the berlin wall. It is wide ranging in topics in the news and has some great interactive exhibits.

Thank Amanda T
