Owner description: Find out for yourself why everyone is calling the Newseum the best experience Washington, D.C. has to offer. Each of the seven levels in this magnificent building is packed with interactive exhibits that explore free expression and the five freedoms of the First Amendment: religion, speech, press, assembly and petition. Whether you have just a few hours or want to spend all day, you'll find something for everyone in the family in the Newseum's 15 theaters and 15 galleries.

“The only museum in DC worth paying for”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

Living nearby, I make a point of going to all the museums in DC. With so many free museums I never went to one I would really recommend paying to go to. It's not that, for example, the Spy Museum or Crime and Punishment museums are BAD by any means, I just never felt I got my money's worth...especially with the completely free Smithsonian museums. This museum though is fantastic, and the only one I'd really recommend shelling out the cash for. I spent all day in this place...it is MASSIVE. There's so much to look at and read it's amazing..and I honestly didn't think I would be that interested in the history of news.

“Excellent new museum, don't miss it!”
Reviewed 20 August 2014

We spent 3+ hours in this museum, and could have stayed longer. Note also that your ticket is good for 2 consecutive days, so you can come back if you didn't have time to see everything the first day. We also happened to find out that our hotel (Sofitel) provided discount coupons good for $5 off each admission, so be sure to ask if your hotel does.

There is a lot to see here, from samples of some of the earliest newspapers and oldest news stories, up through today's front pages from all around the world. It is fascinating to re-live coverage of the major events of our lives. The videos discussing aspects of journalism (bias, anonymous sources, etc.) were interesting. There are several interactive exhibits, games, and a room devoted to social media. There's also a broadcast studio (check the schedule if you want to time your visit while it's in use), and a very moving 9-11 exhibit.

“If you pay for one museum in DC, this should be it!”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

There are many free things to see and do in Washington DC, but if there is going to be one thing you pay for, I would put this on the list. I love the Newseum! So many great exhibits and so much cool information. The tickets you buy are good for two days, and you just might need two days to see everything this museum has to offer. There is something for everyone. Definitely recommended!!

“Give it enough time”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

This museum has such a wealth of exhibits and information you must dedicate as much time as possible. We went back for a second day and still felt we didn't have enough time.

“Great museum”
Reviewed 19 August 2014

Although it was kind of expensive compared to other museums, it was worth it.
I specially loved the area where you can see newspapers headlines from last century or major world events like WWII...
It has many levels and reviews all types of news from TV to written news. I enjoyed this visit a lot!
