The monument is truly grand and a fitting memorial to a man i think of as one of the most enlightened minds in our nations history. I loved the quotes on the wall and the serene atmosphere inside. A beautiful walk to the monument around the tidal basin and a wonderful place to sit and take a breath. Free admittance and there are also bathrooms at this site

“A Nice Memorial to Visit”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

I visited this memorial while in DC for a conference. It was a nice getaway as the memorial is off of the main park and tends to be less crowded. Parking is free and close by. A must see if you are in the area.

“A worthy memorial for my favorite Founding Father”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

What a unique and beautiful memorial for Thomas Jefferson. We were honored to be there "with him." Monticello may be our favorite Presidential home (and we have visited several) so this was an appropriate visit for us.

There is an elevator under the memorial that was very helpful for us.

“Another Must See...”
Reviewed 20 June 2014

Large statue of Jefferson on the inside of the rotunda. There are great views of the basin and the cherry trees that line the basin. This memorial is a bit of a walk, but worth the effort to see. I would not miss this site. There is a small shop for water and bathrooms.
