Owner description: A 19-foot bronze statue of perhaps the most esteemed founding father sits beneath a columned rotunda in the style of the Roman Pantheon.

Seriously, perhaps no better for a DC Native. As a tourist see the memorial and tidal basin, rent a bike in cherry blossom season.

However, sit on the moonlit steps with someone special and I'll bet you won't even have to lean in for that kiss!

Jefferson was definitely someone to be admired and respected for his contributions to the U.S. This memorial gives one, what I think to be a true taste of who he was - his word inscribed on the walls are very thought provoking and inspiring. We visited at night and loved seeing the memorial so emotionally lighted.

It was crowded but so many people were talking about how wonderful it was. The walk up the steps was something, probably to show you what a hard fight it had been for Lincoln.

The Jefferson Memorial is one of the must see monuments in DC. The monument sits along the water where you can rent paddle boats and you can walk or ride a bicycle around it. I highly recommend renting a bike and riding to the monument and then continue around the water and visit all of the war monuments on your way to the Lincoln Monument.

This elegant representation of Thomas Jefferson makes it a must see on the Washington DC tour. You can truly feel the spirit of Thomas Jefferson as you stand in awe of the huge lifelike sculpture of the great patriot.
