“Midnight Monuments”
Reviewed 5 July 2014

I recommend touring the monuments at night. It's much cooler, much less foot traffic, and great opportunities to take photos. It's much more serene, too.
This monument is not located directly on the National Mall, so it's a bit more of a walk. But it's worth it. Then you can make way over to the Teddy Roosevelt monument.
Enjoy!

“Best Memorial of DC”
Reviewed 4 July 2014

Of all the memorials, this is the best, even better than the Lincoln. It is a bit removed, so there are less people. The views are better. And one feels more American after having visited it. While Lincoln's feels like visiting a wise oracle, Jefferson's feels like visiting the originator of democracy in its purity.

“breathtaking”

We walked here from the Lincoln Memorial along the Potomic. It was a lovely walk and we had beautiful views on the Jefferson Memorial as we got closer. It is a lovely memorial with beautiful surroundings.

“Inspirational and beautiful”
Reviewed 3 July 2014

Love visiting the memorials and reading the inspirational quotes and writings. Reminds you of how much this young country has grown in such a short time and what these great leaders have done. Beautiful surroundings overlooking the Potomac and with the Washington Monument in the background. Need only about 30-45 min if you just tour the outside, but probably over 1 hour if you go to the small "museum" inside.

“Amazing ”
Reviewed 2 July 2014 via mobile

This monument is the best one. Those who say the view is bad are either blind or impossible to please. Walking into the monument you are dwarfed by the impressive statue and moved by the immensity of it all. A must go but make sure to have good shoes and water for the very long walk.
