The architecture is magnificent!!! Such history to take in. This great building has free wifi and also lots of seating to rest and wall outlets to charge phones with. Very helpful as my phone died and still needed to take lots of pictures. The souvenir section of the building had some strange and even creepy artifacts from our history. Was a great experience! And all the staff was vey helpful.

The Castle building is world-famous as the impressive architectural original building of what has has become a 15-museum complex of amazing and unique interest. When visiting for the first time it is worth stopping in, but the actual exhibits it contains are limited and focus on museum history (not American or world history). Because there is so much to see in the other 14 buildings, don't get delayed in this location. Every other museum building has maps, guides and gift shops, so start at what interests you or your group. Hint: This is right at the Smithsonian Metro stop, so if you arrive that way, it is a convenient start. But if coming from the Capitol end start with the National Gallery or the creative, original American Indian Museum.

A very nice old building, good for photos as you don't see such buildings now. Good to have a meal in the restaurant before going to see the Air &Space museum, as you cant take any food or drink to the museum. There is also a gift shop for souvenirs.

This appears to be where the Smithsonian got its start. It is a very old building and looks great from the outside. They call it the Smithsonian Castle for a reason! However, there is not much in this building. It is a great place to start and get information if you aren't quite sure what you want to do. It also has a gift shop and food for sale.

This museum was a lot of fun to explore and see the exibits. I was amazed at the "Castle" look of the building and how beautiful it was.
