The destruction exhibit was such a mix and included IMHO some nonsensical displays. A much better exhibition on destruction IMHO can be found at the National Museum of Natural History:
Unintended Journeys - Images by Magnum Photos photographers examine the plight of environmental refugees, especially those displaced within the last decade due to natural disasters and global climate change. Exhibit on view through August 13, 2014.

I appreciate the space to feature modern works, but this just missed the mark for me. We were thankful we didn't pay admission.

Try and go in the early morning to appreciate the fantastic sculptures to be found here and experience the arts end of the Mall.

The Hirshhorn is clearly aimed at serious artists and art lovers. I'm obviously not serious enough because many of the exhibits were list on me.

Wow! Where do I start for this museum? First, looking at the building from the outside you expect stuffy , old artifacts. However, once you reach the top of the Escalators be prepared to be shocked and moved and look beyond the definition of art.

Current exhibition is " Damage from the 1950s and on" highlights video installments, visual effects, and pictures that provoke images of damage and such. Enjoy!
