“Jefferson's Genius on Display”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

It's like no other place in the world. A true masterpiece. One remarkable building after another.

It's important to know that things are much further apart than they appear on the map. It's quite hot and shadeless out there in Summer and there's no tube stop at the far end of the Mall. I could have easily walked the whole thing a couple of times over, but my family was quickly worn down by the heat. Best to check out public transportation if anyone in your party isn't much of a walker.

The National Mall’s large open spaces and park feeling creates an ideal stage for a number of things, i.e. inaugurations, demonstrations, which reflect our shared heritage. It is also a wonderful place to walk, bike, play ball, gather with family and friends to picnic, dance, sing, listen to performers, etc. It is a wonderful place to show dignitaries who visit and the everyday Joe too. Surrounded by our many memorials and national museums you can always find something to see and do. And to think most of it is FREE!!! Go, explore or just sit back and let your mind run free.

“Very long walk!”
Reviewed 4 August 2014

We did this in pieces, some monuments and memorials were a short walk from our hotel, but some stuff was just too far and we had to use a cab. Def worth seeing it all!

“A must in D.C. ”
Reviewed 3 August 2014 via mobile

The National Mall is a must for every American and for any tourist visiting Washington. The White House, the Smithsonian museum of Natural History, the World War II Memorial, the Lincoln Memorial, Washington Monument, the United States Capitol, Martin Luther King Memorial, Tidal Basin (which is awesome), and much, much more, all in the same place and at walking distance.
If all that wasn't enough, everything is for free! Doesn't get much better than that. Enjoy your visit.
