Stayed 4 days Oct 12-16, hotel is very clean, comfortable and quiet. The management really strives to make their guests happy. Customer Service and Customer Satisfaction are a priority for them. We liked the products that were provided and my husband thought the complimentary breakfast was adequate. You can't beat the location or the price for this hotel - especially with everything they provide. They have their own secure parking lot, which is hard to find in D.C. Staff was very friendly and helpful. We will stay there again and have already recommended this hotel to friends.

I was really surprised with this hotel. The room and the bed were enormous with a complete kitchen, including microwave, fridge, stove and everything you can need. There was a big flat TV with hundreds of channels from DirecTV (I could even see a Spanish soccer match). The bad thing was the air conditioning because it was a little noisy. The situation is perfect too and the employees were really friendly. The breakfast was ok (it could be improved). Internet wireless free and fast.

I really recommend this hotel if you are going to stay in Washington DC.

Great hotel with very friendly and helpful staff. The apartment was clean, bright and spaceous with a really nice bathroom! Don't be put off by the boarded up buildings being refurbished next door. The hotel was really quiet at all times of the day and we felt safe walking around the local area. Would recommend this to anyone.

I stayed here for 3 nights with my two sisters; one of my sisters came with her husband and two kids. The suite had two rooms and a common area with a 3-person fold out couch, chair, and adjoining kitchen. It was very clean and elegant: marble floors, white bedding, nice kitchen counter tops. The kitchen was stocked with plates, cups, silverware, etc. The bathrooms had a hair dryer, shampoo, conditioner, lotion, soap, and a few other things. There were two robes and slippers in the room but only provided in one of the two rooms. There is a CVS pharmacy really close. The Metro stop is within 2 blocks and was really convenient. The rooms had double beds, alarm clocks, iron/ironing board.
Although our stay was nice overall, there are a few things worth noting:

Hot water. Anytime anyone used another bathroom at the same time, or showered at the same time in another bathroom in the suite, the hot water lasted all of 2 minutes. It didn't get very hot at all, ever. Nor did it last long even if no one else was using hot water.

Shampoo. The complimentary shampoo left all of our hair greasy. Bring your own!

WiFi. The complimentary internet did not work.

Breakfast. The continental breakfast was not good. There were pastries and (if you got there early) apples and very ripe bananas. Some of the milk for coffee was rancid. There was sometimes toast with butter and jam. Orange juice. The pastries were stale. Don't rely on this to fill you up.

TV. There was only one tv in the common area. No tv in the bedrooms.

Seating. There were 6 of us and only one couch. Needless to say, there was not enough space to seat all of us when we came home and wanted to relax.

Soap. The complimentary soap had exfoliant in it. This meant it scrubbed certain parts of the body that are "delicate". Ouch! Bring your own soap.

Absolutely beautiful! Great location - close to everything. We did a one night stop over in Washington on our way to Richmond. The Eldon was perfect! We walked around the city in the evening and again the next morning. Now planning a girls weekend to Washington and will be staying at the Eldon for the entire time.
Pullout couch is okay for small children or possibly one person but not comfortable for 2 adults to sleep on - but is there a pullout that has ever been comfortable??

Just came back from a combo business/leisure trip - 1st half was a convention, for which the hotel was incredibly convenient. Plus, my home-cooked breakfasts beat the pants off the over-priced convention center offerings!

Then my family came up & we spent the rest of the week running around DC. That's when the kitchen really came in handy! And having 2 separate sleeping areas was worth its weight in gold when one child wanted to nap & the other one wanted to play.

Ours was one of the smaller rooms, right by the elevator ... I was a little concerned about noise, but that wasn't a problem at all. The kitchen was well-equipped, and we were able to prepare several simple meals. I do wish they'd stock basics like salt, pepper & garlic powder, but can understand why they don't. Fortunately, there were a couple of grocery stores & a corner store within walking distance, and coffee, juice & pastries in the lobby every morning.

Several nice touches, like a laundry hamper in the bedroom closet, along with shelves & a shoe rack. Light-blocking curtains would have been nice ... they might have also blocked some of the street noise (including a couple having a screaming fight in the middle of the street). The bed was very comfortable, but it was a double, not a queen. The sofa bed worked fine for my young children, but the thin mattress probably would have been somewhat uncomfortable for an adult. And the ~100-lb glass-topped coffee table was a chore to move! But the wi-fi worked flawlessly, and the hotel staff allowed me to print pages for my presentation at no charge.

I admit that I was a little nervous when my airport taxi driver didn't recognize the name of the hotel :) but he was eventually able to locate it because I'd had the foresight to jot down the street address. The boarded-up buildings on either side were a little off-putting, although I've heard that there are plans to renovate them into lofts or something similar.

Easy access to the metro station, on the north end of the convention center, and also a Circulator bus a stop on 9th & K St. And it was just a few blocks' walk to Chinatown / Gallery Place for great food & shopping.

In all, this hotel was exactly what I was looking for ... a peaceful retreat at the end of jam-packed days from either the convention or sightseeing. Having a functional kitchen saved us hundreds of dollars in restaurant meals, that we were then able to spend in museum gift shops! I only wish I'd had time to schedule an in-room massage ... that would have been the icing on the cake :)

We were a little thrown off by the two buildings next door to this hotel that were boarded up. This is not in a bad neighbourhood at all. This hotel is really close to the Metro (subway) and is within walking distance (if you're fit) to all the major monuments, museums and attractions around the national mall. The suites feature a beautiful, fully appointed kitchen with modern cooktop, separate oven, microwave and full size fridge. You basically have a one-bedroom apartment with plenty of closet space. Pull out couch is comfortable; high quality linens abound. Bathroom is magnificent. Safeway is just a 5 minute walk away and the CVS Pharmacy around the corner. Only drawback was the view (a wall) and there is no TV in the bedroom. The room has complimentary wireless internet (unsecured). The staff are very pleasant and helpful. There is even a morning breakfast bar with coffee, fruit and pastries, muffins, etc. This hotel was the best value going in DC. I recommend the Capitol City Brewing Company as a nice, casual, but upscale restaurant. Bring your best walking shoes and you'll be pleased with this hotel.
