“Great Place to Stay!”
Reviewed 17 May 2012

This hotel was clean and centrally located to DC attractions. My wife and I visited for a two-night stay for a family member's wedding. The staff was accomodating. I asked the concierge about a seafood restaurant in the area that I saw online, and she mentioned another, less "touristy" one just a few blocks away. It turned out to be excellent. We sat at a booth in the bar area, which qualified us for happy hour priced on appetizers and drinks, and we also were able to order from the main menu.

The hotel also provided breakfast, which was all you can eat. There is also a sports-themed Irish pub style restaurant inside. Sticking with the theme of the city, make sure you go during the extended happy hour. The menu is large and the prices reasonable.

The hotel is on the edge of Chinatown, and the subtle Chinese theme permeates the rooms. The bathroom was clean, large, recently upgraded, and the shower pressure was awesome.

This was a great location as Chinatown/Penn Quarter is one of my favorite areas in DC. I left my car with valet and didn't even need to use the Metro (which is very close) the whole time. Everything I wanted was walking distance--great restaurants, above average lunch spots, American Portrait Gallery. The front desk staff was nice and I enjoyed free breakfast. Although it wasn't a hot buffet, the hotel was very generous in its offerings--juice, coffee, nice Dole grapefruit cups, Jimmy Dean breakfast sandwiches to heat up, yogurt cups, pastries. The room was clean and the decor was modern. Free wifi. I would definitely come back to this hotel!

Stay 2 nights in this hotel. Room was beautiful and comfortable for 3 adults. Ask for a room at the highest floor. You can hear noise from the city so ask for the highest floor. Valet-Parking was expensive (40$ per night). Breakfast was good. Home-made Waffle, Cereal, Hot Oats, Egg Muffin, Bagel, English Muffin, Toast, Coffee and Juice. The place for eating is small so we have to eat in the room on 1 day. 2 block from Verizon Center and the Subway and 10 minutes walk from the Capitol Hill. Really the best place to stay in Washington DC.

Room Tip: Was on 9th Floor and hear some noise from the city so choose the highest floor possible.

My stay here was very pleasant. The rooms were clean and nicely updated; the location is close to the Metro and Mall attractions; and the service was exceptional. Very friendly & helpful front desk staff.

Booked our room using points. This is a cat 4 hotel, and the best buy of any of the majors in the area. You'd have to go to DCA to do better.

Good location. Normal sized hotel room, with a slightly larger than normal bathroom. Nicely decorated. Good pillows. 2 free computers in the lobby breakfast area. This is a fairly large hotel. SInce breakfast is free, the lobby/lounge was crowded and very busy. They do serve the usual breakfast items that you expect to see. You won't go hungry, especially if you like make it yourself waffles.

There is 2 hour meter parking in many places in DC. 50 cents for 15 minutes. You can park overnight on the street for free. Just remember that you have to return to your vehicle first thing to move it, or to put money in the meter. FYI, if you want to park on the street without worrying about the 2 hour parking restriction, you'll have to drive to P Street around 4th. It was a 15 minute walk to the hotel. Otherwise, the local neighborhood strictly enforces the 2 hour rule. The parking authority folks cruise the neighborhood.

We took an Amtrak from Orlando, FL to D.C. and arrived at 8 a.m. into Union Station. It was a pleasant15-minute walk to the Fairfield which we welcomed after an 18-hour train ride. We were able to check in early at 9 a.m. It was a bright corner room, well appointed and very clean. Breakfast was over-the-top and personnel keep it well-stocked and clean. The hotel was recently renovated and the decor was Asian influenced; perfect since it is located in Chinatown. Easy access to the Metro. Front desk was service-oriented. When we checked out, they held our bags for 5 hours since our train didin't depart until early evening. We had not been to D.C. for several years and enjoyed new attractions such as the Newseum, WWII monument and MLK Jr. monument.

Room Tip: Corner is sunny although the view is not very good.

We stayed at this hotel for 3 days in April and it was wonderful! Great location to the mall, Chinatown Metro only two blocks away, another Metro at Union Station just a few blocks away, The Circulator bus stop only a few blocks away as well. Our room looked like it has recently been renovated, very clean and comfortable. The staff was incredibly nice and helpful the entire time. The included breakfast was great, variety of things for everyone. Computer and printer available for use in the lobby as well as free coffee, hot tea and hot cocoa 24 hrs a day, nice touch! Free Wi-Fi as well. Quite a number of reasonably priced options for lunch/dinner right near the hotel, very close to the Verizon Center. Felt very safe walking at any time of the day as well. I would highly recommend this hotel as we felt it was an incredible value compared to the prices of many of the other options. We had to move to a "pricer" hotel for a conference and they charged for everything little thing and you are paying for "ambiance" and nothing more. We wanted to go back to the Fairfield!
