“Unpleasant experience!”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 May 2014 via mobile

The collection itself was well worth a visit but the staff were aggressive and rude and made it a very unpleasant experience! There were so many of them and they were peering at you from every angle. If they feel so frightened about their exhibits then I suggest they put everything behind glass. All in all sadly a horrible experience.

“Pleasant, small”

A very pleasant and quaint museum in Dupont Circle. This is a unique "private" collection. First Thursday events are especially enjoyable (first Thursday of the month).

Little cafe inside with pretty good offerings.

“Nice Collection”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014

The Phillips Collection offers a good mix of American and European art, carrying especially, some very special Impressionist works. There's a cute little cafe on site, too, which is worth a visit after you've worked yourself through the galleries. It's a nice place to view some art, when you want to escape the crows around the larger museums.

“Interesting”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 16 May 2014 via mobile

There are several museums in DC, most part are not very interesting. This one is a good one.
The house architecture and gardens are very nice.
I collection is worth a visit.
The downside is the staff, rude and unhelpful.

“Dupont Circle Museum not to be missed”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 13 May 2014

Wonderful collection of American Art as well as European artists, too. Famous Renoir and current "Made in the USA" exhibit is fantastic. Beautiful space and is also well staffed. Impressive collection by someone who was an early patron of many talented American artists. Amazing that Phillips collected these works with just his own family fortune and keen eye. (His wife was also an artist as was her uncle).
Beautiful space, check out the cafe and the patio. I visited with my two teens and my 16 year old really enjoyed it. Lunch was very nice and the neighborhood is also beautiful. Opens at 10:00 and late on Thursday evening. Concert schedule too.
I would return. Free to those 18 and under and $12 for adults.
