The Kennedy Center always some sort of show going on, so there is no excuse not to go. There is food available so if you get there early you can get a quick bite, and nothing runs terribly long, so you can make it a reasonable night.

We were honored to be able to experience one of their free concerts. This place is huge and gorgeous. They hold many shows here all year such as Nutcracker, piano recitals, and concerts for the president. There are free shuttle services from the Metro station that will take you to the center back and forth.

From its stunning views of the Potomac River to the grand foyer decorated with flags, the Kennedy Center is truly a beautiful building. Performance spaces vary from large to intimate, and visitors can see everything from cutting edge theater to ballet, symphony concerts, and musicals. There are even free shows offered.

A couple of tips: Consider eating elsewhere ahead of time. Not many appealing dining offerings are within walking distance of the theater, and concessions are expensive. Also, there is a shuttle from the Metro station, which will save the high parking fees in the garage.

renee fleming hosted the American voices at the kennedy center, and the artists and the symphony did not disappoint. this was a wonderful way to see talent in a quick, fun venue.

The Kennedy Center is a fabulous building with a lot of history and an amazing view of the city at night. Took our teenagers to see Sheer Madness (a long running play that takes place in a permanent theater at the top of the Kennedy). It made for a very fun night out and was truly enjoyed by all!!! Make sure to walk the observation deck all the way around the building!
