The Kennedy center always has an event upcoming to fit any taste. It is a place that has so much history and culture that even if you cant make it to a live performance you should still try to see the venue when visiting DC!

“Be Sure to take the tour”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

We went to see Lion King here in July. We arrived early enough to take the tour. It was very good. We got to see areas that we would have other wise missed. Tours are free. Food on the terrace is good, but over priced. We took the metro to get here and then the free shuttle from the metro station.

“Tour and theatre.”

Recommend the free tour of the center. It enhances the theatre experience. The guide was very knowledgeable and did a super job. That evening we saw The Lion King. Great performance.

“Outstanding venue”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Staff exemplary; decor elegant. Have attended 2 productions in the past 14 months, most recently "The Lion King" (also saw the original cast on Broadway). Staging on the smaller JFK Ctr managed the production nicely. On-street parking can be found, tho the on-site parking garage is not overly expensive.

“Great Views of the Potamac”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

Visited the Kennedy Center to see Shear Madness for their 9 p.m. show. An easy way to get there is the shuttle that runs from the Foggy Bottom Metro station to the center - it's free, just look for the red shuttle vans.

We arrived early so we could go to the top level and check out the view of the river. It is nice but unfortunately there are no real comfortable areas to sit, relax and enjoy those views.

Our show was on the top level in the Theater Lab, it was fun with some spectator interaction. The center itself is huge - nice but it seems to be showing its age. I highly recommend using the shuttle to avoid driving and parking and its free.
