Never could figure out the bus system, so took a long walk here from the Zoo Metro Station---for a glimpse at residential areas of Washington DC. The Cathedral is the sixth largest church in the world and is massive. Beautiful gothic design and spatially grand interior. Towards the end of the day, sunlight beams ihrough the stained glass windows---quite stunning. Once free, there's now a suggested donation---but Sundays and services are free Check their website to better time visits.
