“Great Architecture---Interesting Walking Here.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 5 August 2014

Never could figure out the bus system, so took a long walk here from the Zoo Metro Station---for a glimpse at residential areas of Washington DC. The Cathedral is the sixth largest church in the world and is massive. Beautiful gothic design and spatially grand interior. Towards the end of the day, sunlight beams ihrough the stained glass windows---quite stunning. Once free, there's now a suggested donation---but Sundays and services are free Check their website to better time visits.

“Most beautiful Cathedral in America”

You will not go wrong by taking the time so see this cathedral. Plan to spend several hours if you want to take it all in. You must see the Rose Window and Picaso window with the Moon Rock.

“Fantastic place to visit”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 4 August 2014

We visited on Sunday and there was no cost for entry. Go in the late afternoon and catch the Evensong it was amazing to hear the choral songs sung in such a place. Won't ever forget that. The grounds will give you an hour plus to walk around and take pictures. Be sure to find the Bishop's Garden off to the side of the building that gives you a quiet and tranquil place to walk, take pictures of the plants and flowers and just take in the serenity of the place. The building and stained glass windows will take your breath away. Definitely worth a visit while in DC

It was great to get off the trolley and take a leisurely walk around the gardens and inside the stunning cathedral.

“Really Far and Not Worth $10”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 August 2014

The National Cathedral is very impressive from the outside but it is very difficult to get to. After visiting multiple churches throughout the United States and Europe I was not prepared to accosted at the entrance by a woman demanding that we pay $10 each to enter. I thought this was a place of worship not a tourist attraction. I didn't pay because I said I was going to pray so she let us through but she wasn't happy about it. If you have car in DC or are on a tour bus go see but not really worth going inside.
