“Ice Skating on Thanksgiving”
Reviewed 1 December 2013 via mobile

We were the first on Thanksgiving morning to go ice skating at the outside rink at Washington Harbor.

I presume because of the holiday and early morning people were scare but that only made it better for us. The sun was shining and the view of the Potomac was amazing.

The price was $15 each adult and then another $1 for a locker for your stuff. You get a bracelet that gives you access for the day but 30-40 min was more than plenty of time.

“Nicely Reclaimed Georgetown Waterfront”
Reviewed 20 April 2013

What used to be a sad, industrial/warehouse district along the Potomac at the edge of Georgetown is now a vital, bustling restaurant, entertainment, and residential area.

While some of the building designs are anonymous, generic high-rise, there is an overall balance to the complex that seems to work for multiple uses.

The boardwalk along the river includes docking spaces for the (usually expensive) boats that bring some visitors, and it connects to the pedestrian and bike paths that continue south along the Potomac. Nearby, a building and shelter house the sculling shells that local university crews are nearly always plying through the water in the mornings and evenings.

There are inviting level changes, several outdoor/indoor restaurants from casual bar-and-grill to very expensive seafood and steak. There is a martini bar, high-end shopping, and across the street a multi-screen theater.

For more shopping, it's only a five-minute walk up to M Street and Wisconsin Avenue, which also feature dozens more eateries of all sorts.

If you are staying in Georgetown or the Foggy Bottom area, it is definitely worth a walk or shuttle ride to the Harbour.

“Tip Spot to Visit in DC”
Reviewed 7 December 2012

I live in the DC area and whenever I have guests one of our first stops during nice weather was the Harbor and walk along Potomac. Great spot for a view of river, kennedy center. You can also rent bikes by Harbor and ride along Potomac to all the Monuments. Now it's a top spot in winter. They have a fabulous ice skating ring and decorated for the Holidays. So easy to park along water. While your there movie theater across the street, great ice cream spot in Washington Habor and very different choices for dining options.

“A small shopping mall away from the center.”
Reviewed 20 November 2012

The National Harbor is slowly expanding. As for now, it consists of two lovely but very short streets with a few boutiques, cafe and restaurants. Also, it is located on a nice, but again, very small waterfront with pretty view across Potomac on Alexandria. It reminds an open air shopping mall with not enough tenants. It would be a lovely place to walk and relax, if it would not require a car ride from the city center.

“An excellent outing”
Reviewed 14 November 2012

A good friend had signed up to take a social purpose cruise on a ship with many associates that was morred at Washington Harbour. The ship took off @ 1015 am. Parking nearby was very hard to find. The weather was superb. While sitting on a bench on the platform which jutted into the harbor, I watched countless couples,
families and individuals stroll up and down the length of the platform, talking, holding hands, sharing happily with their loved ones. It seemed like many found their love showing during their walk, while little tykes slowly motored along. This is a marvelous place to visit. One sees lots of boats and some cruise ships nested along side. There were a few people moving along standing up on rafts, stroking the waters with a wand like broom. I saw one rowing and some in small boats also greatly enjoying themselves. Sitting on the bench, my eyes rested on beautiful trees blooming in their Autumn Summer glory. I returned to the car, then went to one of the many reasonably priced quaint restaurants all along, took a sandwich and drink out to eat while watching the waters and happy folk strolling by.
