Einstein's memorial is located outside the National Academy of Sciences. He is sculpted in bronze and appears to be relaxed as he is holding his most famous equations: photoelectric effect, theory of general relativity, and the equivalence of energy and matter. There are 3 quotes engraved on the bench where Einstein sits. Easy to pose on his lap for you photo op. Look for the stars map which is embedded with more than 2,700 metal studs representing the planets, sun, moon, stars, and other celestial objects accurately positioned by astronomers from the U.S. Naval Observatory.

E=MC Squared, and we happened about this quiet spot to sit and think with a genius. Lovely art as well as a tribute to Albert Einstein.

If you are visiting the mall and you have some time left, you should check it and take some pics. It's a nice place to take funny pics.

We were in DC on a really hot spring day and the place was full of school trips. Einstein is clearly not on the must do list. It was cool and calm and quiet. And it's a great statue - quite different from the others we saw.

We did have a car. Otherwise it would have been a long walk from the Capitol and back.

We love to take pictures with this statue every time we visit D.C. It is across the street from the Lincoln memorial. Einstein is very welcoming and looks different from most other statues in the area. We always seem to visit at night so we have him to ourselves.
