My husband and I took the 3 boys to visit our nation's capital, and we stayed at the Fairmont on the corner of 24th and M Street. We asked for and got adjoining rooms, one with two queen beds for the boys, and one with a king for us. It makes such a difference to be able to keep that door open between us and know the boys are safe -- while enjoying a little privacy of a separate room. The hotel was very quiet -- we didn't hear the street sounds, even though we were on a lower floor, so we were able to sleep in. We also enjoyed the gym with pool and hot tub -- the hot tub was terrific after a long day of walking along the Mall. The hotel staff was very friendly -- the concierge helped me print out a boarding pass, and they gave us a list of nearby restaurants. The location was convenient -- we walked to the White House, and the Lincoln Memorial. From the Capitol it was more of a subway or cab ride. We also took a tourist trolley ride which picked us up two blocks from the hotel. This was a great place for tourist travel, and I imagine, with its quiet rooms, it's good for business travelers as well.

Room Tip: We signed up for the Fairmont President's Club to get free Wifi.

It was a nice experience to stay in the Fairmont Washington DC in Aug 2014.
The staff and ambiance were all amazing.
We had a suite with a kitchen and dining connected to another room where my daughters were in,
Sadly there was no view only of the courtyard and a lot of construction was going on at that time.
The bathroom was slightly old fashioned and no shower tray present.
Other wise overall was a great hotel to stay in.

I travel to DC often for work reasons. When available, I always stay at the Fairmont. Rooms are large, staff is incredibly nice and it is generally quiet (although there is some construction going on right now, so beware). Drawbacks are that decor is a little dated and the room service is obscenely expensive. But, all in all, a great property.

Room Tip: Check if they are done with construction!

Whenever we are in DC we go back and forth between Hyatt and Fairmont. Almost forgot how great Fairmont is. Lobby itself is lovely with live entertainment and service is great! Rooms are large and comfortable although there is a slight shortage of outlets. Some issues with housekeeping showing up late but I feel like that is common in hotels. Did not eat in hotel restaurant because there are so many great restaurants in DC. Service is very good here. Feels like home.

We were here for a wedding in August. The hotel was clean and the the staff was very friendly. The hotel is in the middle of Georgetown. The best part were the shower heads. Best shower I have had in years. I would recommend one night just for the shower. Worth the $250.

Were staying in the hotel now. This morning the construction noise started at 10 am in the room above us which is very annoying. Continuous Bang Bang .. I guess its a good time to explore the city but would have liked to enjoy my rest as we had a late night. Otherwise would have been 5 stars.

I want to find out the name of the mattress because it
was the best sleep I had in years. It was a bit of
a walk to the Museums but not far from the White House.
There are some nice restaurants and outside cafes.

Room Tip: We had an exterior room with no view but very nice
