“Great stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 27 July 2011

We stayed here over a weekend.

Great check in experience even with an early arrival.

Rooms were a little small, but bed was comfortable and room was very clean. Great wifi service. Evening reception in lobby was nice.

Good location for sightseeing. Spy musuem was quite unique and fun.

We'd stay here again for sure.

Scored this hotel through a priceline bid, got it for a very good price and it exceeded all expectations.

Room was modern and clean, great bed, big shower, couldn't ask for more.

Staff were all very helpful, posted some postcards free of charge for us.

Never charged us for drinks taken from the little store at reception. They had complimentary drinks and finger food every night in the lobby. Free beer!!

Great brewery/restaurant next door, was always busy, good sign if the locals go there. Great location for exploring the national monuments in the area. Everything is pretty spread out in Washington, and requires lots of walking, but this hotel was in a pretty good spot..

The doormen and check in staff were always friendly and helpful.

Had the buffet breakfast on out last morning downstairs, $10 per person, which was reasonably priced in my opinion, and they had a great selection. Should have eaten here every morning as there's not so many dining options nearby..

Didn't have a car, so can't comment on parking.

Great stay, highly recommended, even if you don't get it discounted.

From the beginning, the staff was awesome. We arrived early after a long overnight bus trip. I didn't expect to check in, just asked if they could hold our bags. Our room wasn't ready but they gave us another room so we can take a nap -- ahh heaven. Our room was still ready early - by noon. The location was awesome, we walked to many attractions, although it was time consuming because DC is very spread out. Free internet and mini water bottles were a nice touch - especially after a long walk in hot weather. One morning, I had to print out tix in the business center and the printer was out of ink. I told the front desk, I expected to wait a while, but less than a minute later maintenance came and printed out my tix. There was never a line or waiting for anything, extra towels and pillows were brought to our room within minutes of asking. The room was impeccably clean. Wonderful stay, will be back.

Stayed here many years ago for a convention so decided to try again since happy first time around. It was even better this time rooms are modern, clean etc. Staff is above and beyond and the loaction cannot get any better. Their 6:00 managers happy hour has a large selection of food, drinks etc. I highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure.

I wasn't planning on staying over in DC this particular evening, but the situation proved otherwise. After attending a late showing on of a film on E Street i decided it would just be better to stay in DC and enjoy the remainder of the evening then trek the 45 mins home. Being that it was after midnight, it made calling the reservation lines ineffective. Noticing i had passed this property on my way from the Metro to the theater i gave them a rang. I found the quote, $169, to be reasonable for DC on a Saturday night, considering the property, and neighborhood. Overall for the short stay, i found it to be enjoyable, but did have some concerns.

Pros:
I found the staff that i dealt with to be warm, considerate and helpful, even recommending a late night carry out, and supplying me with missing utensils.
The room was fantastic, nothing less then what i would expect with this Marriott brand.

Cons:
Getting into the property was a bit confusing. They key lock the doors after a certain time, (which is understandable), and post signs on the doors saying such. But their is limited information for property access for late arrivals or walk-ins (such as myself). I later found their is some kind of intercom system.

I wasn't a fan of having laundry carts in the main lobby. While i understand that the property uses the main elevators as their service elevators (it's an older building that was a bank at one time), i would think their would be some more appropriate or less public place to store these items.

Found the corridors to be very warm.

All in all however i would consider this property again.

Room Tip: Engage with the staff, but don't be an idiot, their are already plenty of them in the neighborho...

This is my second time to stay in this Courtyard, It's location is perfect to visit many historic sites and it's in an interesting historic building. Beds were good, and I liked that the sink in our room was separated from the other part of the bathroom because I was sharing a room with a colleague. The last time I was in this hotel there was a restaurant in the lower level, but there is now more of a snack bar and a business center...and this is fine. On this trip the doorman offered small cold water bottles when we left the room (and it was very hot) and this was very much appreciated!! Also, in the afternoon there were snacks and drinks in the lobby for those staying at the hotel...a very nice perk!

I liked this place very much and would stay again. There were a couple of irritating things, my vehicle wouldn't fit in their parking garage and I was charged a smoking in the room fee when I NEVER smoke. They were very accommodating on both issues and bent over backwards to fix things. Everyone was very friendly and the location was a HUGE plus. The room was very clean and the bed was comfy.
I had almost no cell service on the fourth floor.
The restaurant downstairs was incredible! The food was amazing. I will definatly be staying here again.

Room Tip: Definalty ask for an upper room with a view.
