“Nice hotel - very clean, modern and friendly staff”
Reviewed 3 September 2014

Enjoyed three nights while seeing the sights with family of 4. Room was very clean, comfortable, bright and a good size, two queen size beds a must - and many other comparable hotels only offer two full size beds. Even had a sitting area. Bathroom was bright and had all the necessary amenities. If there was just one thing I needed to say that could use improvement it would have to be the water pressure in the shower. The water pressure was pretty bad, but at least the shower was very nice and that made staying in it a little longer to get all the soap out of your hair a little more tolerable. Oh, and also - a couple of luggage racks (standard) and a bunch more hangers would be nice too! We asked for both and did get them, but it would be great if we didn't always have to ask and wait. Hotel is in a convenient location - in case you forget something there's a CVS across the street and there's a selection of restaurants within a short walk. Couple of blocks from Metro station - not too bad - and Georgetown area a bit farther - toss up as to whether to walk or drive. Cafe downstairs from hotel was great for breakfast, reasonably priced for the area and the service was good. We ate dinner there one night too and it was also good. Pool is rather small - rooftop area is nice at sunset; I imagine the same at sunrise too although we never did see sunrise. Staff is helpful and friendly. No real complaints.

Room Tip: Again, we much prefer queen size beds and the Hilton chain does seem to offer them where others just...

I stayed here two weeks in a row and purchased a package which included parking and breakfast. The location is great, a short walk to the memorials and White House or to great restaurants and bars. The staff was overall friendly and accommodating, but I would not see that anyone "went above and beyond." The restaurant staff was very friendly and responsive. There is also an indoor pool and gym which was nice.

Room Tip: Rooms that are located adjacent to the alley are also prone to noise from the garbage truck. I was a...

This has to be one of the best hotels that I have ever stayed in. The room was very nice, with two double beds and the usual amenities; hair dryer, fridge, safe, TV with cable and tea/coffee machine. The room was clean and tidy on arrival and was returned to that state every day by the maids.

The hotel is in a fantastic location, just a few minutes from the North side of the White House and literally metres from the metro.

The hotel is good, but the staff are amazing. Eddie on the front desk is quite possibly the best front desk member of staff that I have ever come across. He remembered our names from the off and would always greet us in the afternoons with a resounding 'good afternoon'. He could not have done anything more to make the stay any more pleasurable. Likewise with Patrick, the hotels front desk trainee. On my parents mentioning we were here for my birthday he had arranged a bottle of wine and a cheese platter to be delivered to our room. The following morning whilst we were having breakfast complimentary birthday cheesecake was delivered.

Breakfast was traditionally 'American' with breakfast sausages, crispy bacon and an eggs chef waiting to prepare anything you wanted. There was also a wide selection of breads, bagels, fruits and yoghurts. It was really nice to wake up too and not to have to go on a mission to find breakfast.

The evening restaurant was equally as good as breakfast and again the staff made the meal even more pleasurable. Both Shannon and Nikko were absolutely fantastic, exceptionally friendly and more than happy to have a chat about local life and the surrounding area. They both really made the experience amazing.

There is only one negative I could think of and that would be the noisy air conditioning, it seemed to go on and off throughout the night. However you could easily turn this off if you wanted too so it wasn't a major drawback for us.

I will definitely be going back, in fact I can't wait!

Room Tip: Go high, ask for a room on the front of the hotel, you'll get a good view.

Easy walk to the White house and the Washington monument.
The beds were small. Nice Keurig coffee tea maker in room.
We enjoyed the restaurant in the lobby after a long day of walking around the Smithsonian museums.

Room Tip: There were ear plugs in the rooms.

We stayed in the hotel for three nights on a visit to see the tourist attractions. The hotel was ideally situated for this. On our first day, we just crossed the street to the McPherson Square Metro stop and boarded a train for Arlington National Cemetery. Many other places of interest were within walking distance.
Our room was spacious and clean. Since it was situated away from the street, it was very quiet.

The front desk staff were friendly and helpful and the valet parking brought our car within 10 minutes of our request. The price of $39.00 per day was a bit high, but not out of line for a major city.

We chose to eat a light breakfast of fruit and yogurt in our room and were usually out touring at lunch time. By the time we returned to the hotel after a day of touring, we were happy to eat in the hotel dining room which had a good varied menu with fair prices and good service. Complementary cold drinks, coffee and cookies available in the lobby were much appreciated.

The hotel seemed secure as anyone using the elevators had to swipe their room key to operate the elevator.

All in all, our stay was pleasant and we would recommend this hotel to others going to Washington as tourists.

Room Tip: Ask for a room at the back of the hotel.

This hotel is only two blocks from the Whitehouse, two blocks from the bus to Georgetown, close to the subway and within walking distance of the major monuments and museums.

The staff were great and the restaurant meals were very reasonably priced and tasty. Can't comment on breakfast as we never tried it.

The rooms are large and have everything you need. We had a microwave, fridge and coffee/tea maker using a pod system. There was free tea and coffee in the lobby area and we took some milk in a cup so we didn't have to use the dried milk they provided in the rooms.

There is some traffic noise in the rooms(we were on the third floor)but it didn't disturb us greatly. We don't particularly like air conditioning noises but we left ours on whilst we were out and turned it off when we got back at night and this worked fine bearing in mind we were there in August.
