Senart's offers a very comfortable, wood paneled dining room including 2 working fireplaces and decorated with dozens of historic DC photos and mural paintings. The drinks menu was great, their house specialty "Moscow Mule" would really hit the spot in the summer. We ordered a dozen raw oysters ( and you can't beat the happy hour price of $1 VA oysters- available on weekends, too, until 7pm) a chilled whole 1 lb lobster, and a couple of steaks. Everything was as it should be, American, traditional, unfussy, and I felt the prices were quite reasonable for DC. If they would round out their menu with a few more regional dishes, such as crab bisque/dip/cakes, and a local fish such as rockfish, this place would represent our region very nicely, and a bit less "generically."
