Let me start by saying that, as always, the service at the hotel was impeccable. From the valet, bellhops, front desk staff to the room service servers, everyone was gracious and polite. The lobby area is beautiful.

What was dissapointing was the room. Nothing special. The bathroom was huge and gorgeous but had no air conditioning vent. In fact the entire room had but one vent and that air barely cooled the room and did not make it into the bathroom.

Despite setting the thermostat at the lowest available temperature (60 degrees F) the room was still humid and hot. It was an incredibly humid night with strong thunderstorms but I would have expected better from the Ritz. All night I struggled to sleep because the room was just too hot. Getting ready in the morning in the bathroom was impossible. One might as well have been standing outside it was so oppressively humid in the bathroom.

I know I should have called to switch rooms but I arrived very late (10pm) and immediately lowered the thermostat. I wanted to give it some time to cool down and was exhausted. By midnight, I was just too tired to switch rooms and was only staying one night so not worth the trouble.

I was presenting at a business meeting the next morning in one of the meeting rooms. Again, the room was very nice but stifiling. The entire time I was presenting, sweat was making its way down my back. I couldn't wait to leave. Union station was more comfortable than the hotel!

Beautiful hotel, well appointed rooms, spacious and everything you would expect. We upgraded to the club lounge plan which was ideal for our family of five. We had light lunch, supper and breakfast on 9th floor and were helped by some lovely staff in the lounge. The position of the hotel was excellent, close to all major sights, we walked to white house, Lincoln memorial etc. there is a whole foods just next to the university which was really handy. Couldn't fault anything!

Stayed here over Memorial weekend. Unusually hot weather, however, coming back to hotel to chilled punch and festive cookies in the afternoon was refreshing. Staff very accommodating. Derrick escorted us outside to make sure we were on the right path to our destination. Little "snafu" was immediately addressed by staff, as expected at the "Ritz". Cannot wait to come back next year.

No complaints whatsoever. You certainly get what you pay for when you stay at the Ritz. The rooms are large, comfortable, and, most importantly, very clean. The bathroom is large with a separate soaking tub and the towels are thick and soft. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. The gym is large with plenty of equipment, but there is a fee for use during your stay.
The neighborhood is just outside of Georgetown and walking distance to several attractions and many restaurants.

My husband, 2 young children, and I stayed at this hotel for 13 nights late June-early July. We had the Club Lounge plan. Our stay was a good one mostly due to the great and friendly service offered at the Club Lounge. I am sad to say that I forgot their names but there were 2 Ethiopian women in particular that made us feel welcome each time. The hotel itself was nice, clean, and efficient as expected of any Ritz except that the LA Fitness next door did not allow our children to use the pool. Also, there were no activities or anything fun for our kids to do in the hotel. It was a work trip for me and I would have appreciated more venues for them within the hotel. All in all, good experience. Would do it again.
