We had a great stay and enjoyed our mini-suite room and the great price we paid. Marcus the food and beverage manager made us feel very welcome each morning at breakfast. We would stay here again for sure.

Amazing service, a true luxury hotel without being stuffy. Stayed for only a night, room was nice and large, super clean, and a massive bathroom. A lot of nice extra little freebies – glass of champagne at check-in, apples, coffee and bottled water for my morning run, cookies and flavored water in the afternoon – it felt like they cared. All the staff nodded and smiled and wanted to help at every turn; it seemed for every guest there was an employee willing to take care of what ever you wanted. Nice hotel bar with great martinis – had this cucumber cooler that was the best, then ate a fish burger at the Bistro, it’s what they’re known for – delish. We felt like sleeping in, so we did room service for breakfast and the eggs Benedict were some of the best I ever had. We saw the health club and like the reviews say- it is world class and fantastic – blows other hotel gyms out of the water – two floors of every machine imaginable, basketball, racquetball, even a lap pool. Don’t let the fancy chandeliers, marble floors, high priced artwork or Chilhuly glass scare you, this place is high end, yet feels very comfortable - almost like a small bed and breakfast. If a Ritz can be calm and relaxing this is it. Been to many DC hotels were the lobby is huge, tripping over tourists’ luggage and convention people with their laptops but not here – a true little oasis in a very powerful city. A nice place to get away and experience what great service is like.
Let me start by saying that, as always, the service at the hotel was impeccable. From the valet, bellhops, front desk staff to the room service servers, everyone was gracious and polite. The lobby area is beautiful.
What was dissapointing was the room. Nothing special. The bathroom was huge and gorgeous but had no air conditioning vent. In fact the entire room had but one vent and that air barely cooled the room and did not make it into the bathroom.
Despite setting the thermostat at the lowest available temperature (60 degrees F) the room was still humid and hot. It was an incredibly humid night with strong thunderstorms but I would have expected better from the Ritz. All night I struggled to sleep because the room was just too hot. Getting ready in the morning in the bathroom was impossible. One might as well have been standing outside it was so oppressively humid in the bathroom.
I know I should have called to switch rooms but I arrived very late (10pm) and immediately lowered the thermostat. I wanted to give it some time to cool down and was exhausted. By midnight, I was just too tired to switch rooms and was only staying one night so not worth the trouble.
I was presenting at a business meeting the next morning in one of the meeting rooms. Again, the room was very nice but stifiling. The entire time I was presenting, sweat was making its way down my back. I couldn't wait to leave. Union station was more comfortable than the hotel!
Beautiful hotel, well appointed rooms, spacious and everything you would expect. We upgraded to the club lounge plan which was ideal for our family of five. We had light lunch, supper and breakfast on 9th floor and were helped by some lovely staff in the lounge. The position of the hotel was excellent, close to all major sights, we walked to white house, Lincoln memorial etc. there is a whole foods just next to the university which was really handy. Couldn't fault anything!
Stayed here over Memorial weekend. Unusually hot weather, however, coming back to hotel to chilled punch and festive cookies in the afternoon was refreshing. Staff very accommodating. Derrick escorted us outside to make sure we were on the right path to our destination. Little "snafu" was immediately addressed by staff, as expected at the "Ritz". Cannot wait to come back next year.
No complaints whatsoever. You certainly get what you pay for when you stay at the Ritz. The rooms are large, comfortable, and, most importantly, very clean. The bathroom is large with a separate soaking tub and the towels are thick and soft. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. The gym is large with plenty of equipment, but there is a fee for use during your stay.
The neighborhood is just outside of Georgetown and walking distance to several attractions and many restaurants.
