This tour was recommended to us by another couple traveling with our party. We called the very next morning on a Sunday of all times and the tour guide graciously accommodated our party of 3. You must take this tour if you want to experience the rich, full history and culture of this town. Juanita is a walking book of interesting stories about the people, town and architecture. We began the tour at the civil war memorial. Our guide made this a very personal experience and I won't ruin it for you. Let's just say, you step into the history of the memorial. Dawn, a clever docent at the museum, was a wealth of information also with a passion for the history and artifacts. The Frederick Douglas House tour was awesome. We ended at the memorials in the National Mall. We even got a taste of DC and U-street! I could say more, but I encourage you to take an afternoon to experience this! She willingly customized our tour as requested at the time of booking allowing us to see exactly the things we wanted to see and so much more.
