Had an awesome time; the mansion is always the highlight of our trips from Tennessee. Sat in on an awesome blues jam too as a bass just happened to be available! —

went for a tour as part of a conference event. could have spent more time looking at the many (100?) rooms with all that stuff... and apparently it's actually placed in some kind of themes... some more evident than others. couldn't find many of the hidden door ways through lack of time (or lack of ability!) would return for sure.

The owners are AMAZING! What they have created is a secret passage to a Rock N Roll wonderland! Amazing hospitality, and a unique setting for an event, or even a place to disappear for a while. You will also find best music shows anywhere! Wacky, and wonderful the best kind of fun!

Went for an event where we could wander around the house and see each room decorated in different styles, etc. True to hype, everything in the house is for sale but for outrageous prices. Can't understand how it would be to stay at the inn. Akin to House on the Rocks in Spring Green, WI

We were looking for something different to do with the kids in DC for a quick summer outing. This fit the bill. Went here with 4 kids, aged 10-14. They had a great time looking through the rooms and trying to uncover the secret doors. Found a handful, but not as many as we would have liked! Really fun to explore. We did the least expensive tour, about $8 each to explore on our own without a docent or agenda. It does have stuff everywhere, but it is not overwhelming.

I recommend using the valet service for parking, as the garages are hard to come by in this neighborhood. I was thinking as we were looking for the secret spaces, this place could inspire a great novel or two, and in fact has been mentioned in a couple of fiction books. I can see why...great fun!
